You do it to yourself you do
And that's what really hurts
"We're not supposed to be up here..." Shouta complained, as Oboro held the door open for the tree of us to get out onto the rooftop. He had suggested we eat our lunch up here today, after Hizashi, Shouta and I had been shoved into lockers repeatedly on our way to the cafeteria.
For some reason no one bothered Oboro, even though they still didn't like him. Maybe it was because he was 6'1" and pretty much towering over everyone. He was even a little taller than Hizashi, but Hizashi made up for that with the way he styled his hair. Which ironically made him a target.
"Ah shit, you're afraid they'll-"
"Don't say it!"
"-put us in detention?" Hizashi finished his sentence and did finger guns at Shouta. Oboro and I burst out laughing, while Shouta was just shaking his head.
"This line is getting old." he mumbled.
"Detention never gets old." Oboro exclaimed, putting a few books in the door, so it wouldn't fall shut behind them and lock them out of the school. I grinned at how much of a running gag going to detention had become for us at this point. I really hadn't pictured my high school life like this, but honestly I kind of enjoyed life as one of the troublemakers. And it wasn't like anyone really cared about what I did anyway.
"Honestly, we'll just get in trouble for this." Shouta replied.
"Only if someone sees us leave. There are no cameras up here, so we're all good." I said. He gave me a confused look.
"Wait, you checked?" he asked.
"Of course. Know your enemy and all that."
"Would've been cool if you had been that smart about your parents when you were hanging out with us." he retorted.
"Oof, chill out, Shou. No need to get all personal like that." Hizashi said and chuckled a little. We sat down, leaning against the wall behind us and started eating. I wasn't really eating as much as I was watching Oboro eat. It was fascinating, seeing him stuff food into his mouth until he could barely breathe anymore and then gulp it all down and almost suffocate on his food. He never learned.
"So, did any of you guys get offers for the internships?" I wanted to know. They all collectively shook their heads.
"Did you get one?" Oboro asked me with a full mouth.
"Nah. I think every single agency in Japan got either onto Iida or Sensoji." I replied and rolled my eyes.
"Do you know where you wanna go yet?" Hizashi wanted to know.
"No idea."
"Nuh uh."
"I wish I knew."
"You know what we should do?" I said. The three of them looked over at me, waiting for me to continue, but I just had my mouth full of rice, so it took me a good while to manage to chew it all down.
"What... what should we do?" Shouta asked, thinking I was pausing for dramatic effect or something.
"We should all intern with agencies that are in the same general area. Then we can meet up for lunch break and hang out after work and all. We'll totally go around me being grounded!" I replied.
"That..." Shouta started, probably about to say that it was a really dumb idea, but Oboro interrupted him.
"... is a fantastic idea, let's do it!"
"Yeah, we can check the list and see which ones would work. Let's find some that are in the middle of Tokyo, that means we can party!" Hizashi shouted and quickly rummaged through his backpack.
"Zashi, no one will let you into a bar. No one will let either of us into a bar." Shouta replied, shaking his head.
"That's true. Unless..." Oboro said, giving me a suggestive look. What the hell was he getting at? Hizashi and Shouta were looking at me, too. Shouta still seemed clueless, but Hizashi's face lit up and he started grinning.
And then it dawned on me. Of course they'd check for our IDs if we tried to get into some bar or club or whatever. But there was a simple way around it. And it wasn't a fake ID. It was creating the illusion of a fake ID. Which meant I could easily smuggle us in by just using my quirk on a bouncer.
"Guys, no. I can't do that." I answered. Shouta still hadn't caught on. He looked back and forth between Oboro and Hizashi and then finally looked at me, the confusion in his eyes only growing.
"What? What can't you do, (F/N)?" he asked. I sighed.
"They want me to use my quirk on the bouncer, so we'll look older and our IDs show wrong birth dates, so we'll get in." I replied.
"You're not serious, are you? You know we're not allowed to use our quirks on people without a license or unless we are told by a superior! She could get expelled if anyone finds out!" Shouta protested.
"And how is anyone going to find out?" Oboro wanted to know. Hizashi nodded slowly and with a wide grin.
"Once we make it past the bouncer, no one will care anymore. And if we don't manage to get past him, I doubt he'll go and tell on us, as long as we stay calm about it. Plus, she won't get expelled for using it for something dumb like that. Only if she hurts people or could have hurt them." Hizashi mentioned.
"Yeah, it's a pretty fool proof plan. They won't expel her, if we all take responsibility, either. And that is only if they actually catch us. How easily could you pull it off, (F/N)?" Oboro wanted to know.
"I mean, it would be pretty easy, if it's only for a short while... but still, don't you think that's a little risky?" I said. I kind of wanted to do it, and there wasn't much that could go wrong, but I was scared shitless of the consequences if we did actually get caught. I looked to Shouta for help.
"Just stop it. If she doesn't wanna do it, she doesn't wanna do it. Don't force her." he told them.
"Look, I'm not sure if I wanna do it or not. Can we not like... decide when the time comes? I mean we'll have to get to those internships in the first place. And then we can talk about going clubbing or whatever." I replied.
"Yeah, hey, no pressure. Okay, so I found a good few agencies in Tokyo that also offer accommodation for students for the week, so let's just put in requests for those, as soon as we can, before someone steals them away from us!" Hizashi said and handed us his list with the agencies in question circled.
"Man, you're really motivated to do this, huh?" Oboro said, leaning over to me to have a look at the list as well.
"I just really don't wanna be somewhere for a week where I don't even know anyone. I'd get lonely without you guys." Hizashi mumbled. Shouta raised an eyebrow and just shook his head.
"Awwww. You're so cute, Hizashi." I replied. He grinned at me, pushed up his glasses and pointed a finger gun at me.
"No, you're cute."
