Step from the road to the sea to the sky

And I do believe what we rely on

I wasn't quite sure what time it was when we were heading back home, but I know it was late. Or rather early, depending how you wanted to see it. Interestingly enough Hizashi, Shouta and I were some of the last people to stick around the party, mostly because we had smuggled some alcohol in and were on our merry way to getting really damn drunk through the night.

But it was also due to the fact that our working world was highly competitive and a lot of the other students had just about managed to find jobs and had to show up for work tomorrow morning, which honestly sucked, but well. I had put in a vacation day for the next day and Shouta didn't have a boss and Hizashi... well, Hizashi had said he was just going to pull through.

Honestly, maybe Hizashi was kind of insane. But I was glad he stuck with us to the very end when we were kicked out of the place we had rented and because it was such an ungodly time, we also had to walk back home. And it was FAR. But we didn't care too much. I took off my shoes and carried them and we were all still tipsy enough to not care about having to walk for over an hour.

We had started out as a group of six and then over time people had left, because they had to take a different direction to get home and the only ones left were Shouta and Hizashi and I. And I was glad to have that time with just the two of them. It felt special and I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

So here we were on our way home, swaying slightly, not really sure exactly where we were, but we were on our way... somewhere. It wasn't really concerning for us at that very moment, except for the fact that we were all tired as hell. That was until Hizashi made us aware of something.

"Hey, we're like really close to the graveyard. This is probably a stupid idea, but... do you... wanna go and visit?" Hizashi suggested. I glanced at Shouta, who seemed to think about it. We all knew what this was about and if I was being honest, it would make a lot of sense to go and visit Oboro's grave. Spend some time with him during prom night. He'd have been with us all the time after all if nothing had happened. Shouta then nodded shortly and sighed.

"Yeah, I suppose... I suppose it's a good idea. Let's go." he said softly. Hizashi nodded and was leading the way. I wasn't sure if I should try and put on my shoes again, but my feet were already dirty from walking through the streets for such a long time. I'd have to go and wash them before we got into the house or my mother would kill me for getting the sheets dirty.

"What time is it even?" I wanted to know. Was the graveyard even open at this time of the night? Did graveyards ever really close? I had no idea. It was a bit embarrassing, but I hadn't been to Oboro's grave since the funeral. I just was way too busy with school and work and it also... it just hurt too much. I wasn't sure whether the others had been to his grave, but I couldn't imagine it.

"I have no idea, my phone died a while ago. You think they lock up the graveyard at night?" Hizashi asked.

"Of course they do." Shouta replied with a sigh. He didn't make any signs of changing directions. Guess we were going anyway...? I had no idea what the plan was and I couldn't think clearly enough.

"How do you know?" Hizashi wanted to know. Shouta rolled his eyes and gave Hizashi a dumbfounded look.

"Because they just do. Why do you think there are gates at graveyards? They're not there for fun." Shouta muttered.

"Right, so that's probably a stupid idea and we should just head back home..." Hizashi muttered.

"No, what the fuck? We'll just jump the fence. No biggie." Shouta replied. I nodded along, because... well, jumping the fence to visit a graveyard sounded like a fun thing right now. I was drunk, alright?

"But... but that's illegal..." Hizashi muttered.

"Seriously, Zashi? Has that ever stopped us before?" I wanted to know. Hizashi sighed and shook his head.

"I guess not. Let's fucking go, because I need to show up at work after this. Because I'm either hallucinating or it's getting a little brighter already." he replied. I looked at the sky. Fuck, he was right.

"Shit, what time is it?" I asked. Honestly, I would have checked, but my phone was dead as well.

"Hang on..." Shouta muttered and fished his phone out of his pocket to check the time. I had no idea how his phone was still working, but that was Shouta for you. Always reasonable, always rational.

"It's like 6 in the morning." he announced. 6 in the what now? Fuck. I had no idea it was that late already. Or early. Depending on how you wanted to see it. Hizashi looked completely shocked.

"Alright, let's do this right now, because I have to be at the agency at nine and I need to shower there beforehand." Hizashi said and started jogging a little. Fuck, I was so glad I took the next morning off.

"At nine? Damn, Hizashi. How are you going to survive a full day of work?" I wanted to know with a groan.

"Coffee, energy drinks and sheer determination." he answered. I gave him a concerned look. There was a reason he was never allowed to have any of those when he was around his parents.

"Are you sure about that? You know you're not allowed to have them..." I muttered. Hizashi just shrugged it off.

"Yeah, but who's going to check? Plus, with how tired I am right now, I suppose I'll be right back to normal." he answered and slowed down as we got to the graveyard which was indeed locked.

"As long as you have that when we're gone, do whatever the fuck you want, Hizashi." Shouta muttered and looked at the fence. He stepped back, taking another look and then nodded.

"Right, let's fucking do this." he muttered, stepping back to get some momentum and jumping up onto the fence and climbing over it quickly. It was pretty impressive to watch him do that, not gonna lie. All that training had absolutely paid off it seemed. I just had one problem: the dress.

I looked down on myself and gathered up the dress with a sigh. Right, those two had seen me in my underwear (or less, in Shouta's case), so this would only be a little weird. I gathered up the skirt of my dress and tied it around my hips, so I could climb a fence without dying.

As I was done and looked up, I saw both of them looking at me, as if they weren't sure what the hell I was doing. I raised my eyebrows at them, because... well, I'd like to see them climb a fucking fence in a dress. (Actually, I'd really like to see that, because it was very funny to imagine.)

"What? I'm going to die if I don't do that. Don't look at me, as if you've never seen me in underwear." I said to them, before starting to climb the stupid fence. Despite my efforts it was still way more difficult than I would have imagined, but I managed to get over that fence somehow and even land on my feet without breaking them. Hooray for me. Maybe I was sobering up, but I was getting really damn tired right about now. I untied my dress and looked up a Shouta and Hizashi.

"Alright, let's go. Where is his grave?" I wanted to know. Hizashi and Shouta looked at each other, neither of them saying anything. I sighed, already knowing what this was about. Why did we do stupid shit like this all the damn time? Why did we get drunk at prom and made stupid decisions?

"Right, please don't tell me that neither of you has any idea." I said with a sigh. Hizashi shrugged.

"Come on, how big is this graveyard going to be? I'm sure we'll find it quickly. Maybe we can split up or something..." Hizashi muttered. I nodded and rubbed my eyes, feeling even more tired.

"Okay. Splitting up. Good plan. Let's go."
