Seems he's always been alone

But his eyes have more to say

I had no idea how long we had been in the pool, kissing. I just knew that I got really cold at some point and was shivering, with my teeth clacking. We let go of each other and just looked at each other for a second.

Shouta was probably just as cold as I was. He was shivering and pale and his lips were blue from the cold. I couldn't really fathom yet that this had just actually happened. I felt on top of the world. I almost didn't realize just how cold I was. And then I just started laughing and Shouta was laughing, too.

"You're cold, aren't you?" he said then.

"Freezing." I replied with a big grin on my face.

"Yeah, me too. Let's get dried up."

"Did you bring a towel?"

"No, did you?"

"No."

"Fuck."

We started laughing again. How could we be this stupid? It seemed like a complete miracle we ever got into U.A. in the first place with how dumb we were. We were still laughing as we swam to the edge of the pool. I pushed myself up until I sat at the edge and then lay down, because I just felt exhausted.

Shouta was right next to me, lying beside me and looking up into the stars with me. We were both shivering from the cold, but we didn't want to move. Everything about this night had just been surreal and magical and I wanted to cling to this feeling as long as I possibly could. And if that meant dying from hypothermia, then so be it. I felt for Shouta's hand next to mine and intertwined my fingers with his, once I had found it.

"I'm glad, Oboro and Hizashi decided to flunk out." I said.

"They didn't. They told me they didn't want to come, because they figured that we needed some alone time." Shouta replied. I turned my head to look at him. Wet strands of black hair were hanging in his face.

"Really? They were in on this? Please tell me, this wasn't some sort of bet or anything." I answered.

"What? No! Look, they knew that... well, that I kinda liked you and... they figured this..." he paused to gesture at the pool and the general surroundings.

"... would help or something. And, I mean, I guess it did."

"Oh my God." I said and started laughing.

"What?" Shouta wanted to know, sounding as if he wasn't sure what I was laughing about and whether that was a good sign or a bad sign.

"I just can't believe they planned this. Seriously. They pretty much share one brain cell, but they managed to come up with this? Incredible. So you knew then?" I asked. He furrowed his brows.

"Knew what?"

"That... that I liked you. Because Oboro definitely knew."

"He never told me anything. Wait, you... do?"

"No, I'll just go and break into pools in the middle of the night with anyone. Of course, I like you, dumbass." I said and laughed. I couldn't really see it in the dark, but it almost seemed as if Shouta was blushing a little.

"So, uh... this is kinda awkward, but... what exactly are we?" Shouta wanted to know. I sighed and shrugged.

"I don't know. What do you want us to be?"

"I want us to be somewhere warmer. I'm seriously freezing, it's not even funny."

"Yeah, let's see if we can find towels somewhere in the changing rooms. Wait... they'll be locked, won't they?" I wanted to know. Shouta groaned and facepalmed. He was really shivering a lot...

"We're such idiots." he said.

"Yeah, I could have told you that before we even got here. So do you have another plan?" I asked.

"Who lives closest to U.A.?"

"That would be Oboro."

"Oh, for... fine. It's fine. We can probably crash at Oboro's place. I know he always has tea and I know he won't mind us showing up at that time. He's probably still awake, anyway." Shouta said.

"Won't it be weird if we just show up on his doorstep dripping wet and shivering?" I replied. Shouta just shrugged and got up.

"I mean, he knows that our plan was to go here... He really shouldn't be surprised by this." he remarked.

I got up from the edge of the pool myself and had to stop for a second. I was shivering so much, it was actually difficult to just stand or even properly control any of my muscles. I had to make it over to my clothes at least, so I could get out of this wet underwear. Of course I hadn't brought any change of underwear with me. Guess that meant I'd go commando. It wasn't a big deal, anyway.

After all, this was just Shouta and... we had just made out in the pool after we had broken into it. Which could definitely get us expelled. I guess I was his girlfriend now? We hadn't really said it yet, but I figured that was the general consensus... and that meant all this stuff about being embarrassed and what not didn't really matter, right? Except it did matter. It seemed to make even more of a difference now.

"Are you alright?" Shouta asked me. I realized I was still standing around at the edge of the pool.

"Uh, yeah. Just really cold." I answered and slowly moved towards my clothes, doing my best not to stumble.

"Yeah, we really should have brought some warmer clothes with us. And a towel. I can't believe we forgot the towel." Shouta muttered, shaking his head. I laughed again. It really was such a stupid thing.

"Well, Oboro's apartment is only like 10 minutes away. Why don't you call him while I get changed? Plus, the walk there will keep us warm." I suggested. Shouta smiled and nodded. He already had put his pants on again and had his shirt slung over his shoulder. He grabbed his phone and went a little further away, with his back turned to me. I grabbed my shirt and put it on over my wet bikini top, before uncomfortably taking that off from underneath my shirt.

I looked over at him quickly to check whether his back was still turned to me, before I took off my bikini shorts and put on my pants as quickly as I could. Once I was done and had my jacket back on, I felt a little warmer already. Shouta was just done talking on the phone and turned back to me.

"Ready to go?" he asked me. I nodded.

"Do you have a plan on how to get back out?" I wanted to know. Because I sure hadn't thought that far ahead. Shouta looked at me, as if he was realizing that he had never even considered that. He then looked at the wall and the tree branch that was barely visible from where we were.

"Hm... I see the problem, I think." he replied.

"Do you wanna call Oboro again, so he can send a cloud over and get us out of here?" I asked. Shouta shook his head.

"Nah, I can figure this out. Somehow..." he answered and started scrutinizing the wall. I let him do his thing and got my phone out of my pocket. I felt like I really wanted a memory of this night, so I took a picture of the pool with the mist rising slightly above it and the stars in the sky.

"Hey, Shou... uhm... about that question you asked earlier?" I started, as I turned back to him. He was trying to throw his capture weapon so that it would wrap around the tree branch.

"Which one?" he asked.

"What... what we are now..."

"Oh, uhm... you don't need to... right now... I mean, labels are dumb, anyway, right? No pressure at all..."

"Shou." I said, interrupting his ramblings. He looked at me.

"Yes?"

"I want to be your girlfriend. The real deal. Like we're a thing now. If that's okay."

"That... that is perfect." he replied and there was a relieved smile on his face.
