They go down to the lake of fire and fry
Won't see 'em again till the fourth of July
"I have a feeling that this whole week might suck more than we think it will." Oboro announced, as we were sitting around the last bit of the campfire. This started out as some sort of group activity, but most others had gone to bed already and none of the ones that were still awake were out by the meager remains of the campfire. Hizashi was poking the glowing ashes with a stick.
"Why do you think so?" I wanted to know. We had all been looking forward to this summer camp, but none of us had actually bothered to read the letter they gave us for our parents, where they detailed what we would be doing this entire time. Turns out, they wanted us to do actual work for the entire week.
"I wasn't planning on getting all sweaty during the summer camp. This training plan is batshit crazy." Oboro complained.
"Well, we're here now. The only thing we can do is stick through it." Shouta said. He had brought out his extra blanket and was wrapped up in it. If there was one thing he knew, it was how to relax.
"But it SUCKS!" Hizashi replied.
"Well, tough for us, I guess. It's either sticking it out or walking back home and I doubt we'll manage to do that." I mumbled. I was a little bummed out about sharing a room with the rest of the girls, but at least it was all of them. They usually just left me alone in bigger groups like that.
"How are they even going to make us train that much? I'm sure overexerting yourself isn't healthy, is it?" Hizashi said, poking the glowing ashes some more with his stick. If someone saw us right now, we probably looked really sad. Four U.A. students, picking at some ashes in the dark, complaining about their training.
"We should do something in the evenings." Oboro suggested.
"We're doing something right now." Shouta mumbled. Even he seemed a little more depressed than usual.
"No, I mean something fun! I think I've seen that there is a lake somewhere around here, we should go swimming... or even better skinny dipping!" Oboro replied. Shouta gave him an annoyed glance.
"I doubt we'll be allowed to go there..." I mumbled. Hizashi and Oboro looked at each other and then back at me. They burst out laughing.
"She doesn't think we'll be allowed to go there." Hizashi repeated, howling with laughter. I rolled my eyes. Of course they wouldn't care much about whether things were allowed or not.
"So we sneak out?" I asked.
"Of course." Oboro replied, as if it was outrageous that I even asked that question. And it kind of was, knowing them.
"What if we get caught?" I wanted to know.
"What's the worst that could happen?" Shouta answered matter-of-factly. Thinking about it, there was a range of things they could do, but the most likely would be either detention or sending us home.
"Well, I suppose they could send us home, which wouldn't be half bad..." I mumbled. This was starting to make a lot of sense.
"So it's decided then?" Hizashi said.
"I'll do anything if it means I can sleep in my own bed for as long as I want." Shouta replied. I chuckled.
"You're really attached to your bed, aren't you?" I asked. He just shrugged and almost looked a little sad for a while.
"I just like being in familiar surroundings, that's all." he answered. Oboro grinned widely and nodded.
"Yes, Shouta is a delicate plant, he doesn't like change all too much. He also needs to be watered every other day, so it really is crucial we go to that lake!" he explained, patting Shouta's head. He swatted his hand away and shook his head grumpily. Hizashi and Oboro were laughing and I couldn't help but chuckle, too.
"I'm not a plant!" he protested.
"Awww, Shou, you know we're only kidding, right?" Hizashi said.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." Shouta mumbled.
"So we're sneaking out? When are we meeting?" I wanted to know. I had no idea how I was supposed to sneak out. I could pretend I was heading to the bathroom, but the girls' room actually had a bathroom en suite to the bunk room. It would raise more questions, if anything.
"How about we meet right after the teacher's done with our rounds? We can meet up out here and head off before they finish the rounds." Oboro answered.
"Yeah, we just gotta be quiet." Hizashi agreed.
"Damn, Hizashi, I never thought I'd hear you say those words." Shouta replied with a tired smirk.
"There is no way I can get out without the other girls noticing. I could climb out the window, but they'd see me do it and I'm pretty sure they'd snitch on me." I said with a sigh. Oboro grinned at me.
"Good thing I overheard that they're all planning to head over to the boys' dorm room to do Truth or Dare or some lame shit. So once they're all gone, just meet us outside." he told me. I gave him a surprised look.
"Wait, you don't wanna stay for Truth or Dare?" I wanted to know.
"Pfft, nah! It's always boring when they do it on the first night. The one they play at the end of the trip is where things get interesting." Oboro answered.
"Yeah, none of them is interesting, honestly. I'm not too wild on kissing some girl I don't even like." Shouta mumbled.
"What about a girl you do like, Shou?" Hizashi asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Shouta blushed violently and just didn't respond.
