Under a blue moon I saw you

So soon you'll take me

Up in your arms

Too late to beg you or cancel it

I really should have been studying, but it was too interesting to watch Oboro's face twist more and more as he tried to go over the grammar for our English exam. In the middle of the second semester he had realized that he'd never manage to study for the finals if he started the week before.

So now here he was sitting, his face getting more and more distorted as he read his notes, desperately trying to make sense of them. He probably didn't realize that we were all watching him in amazement.

And then all of a sudden he threw his arms up in the air, groaned loudly and covered his eyes with his hands. He had reached the point where he needed to express his utter despair.

"How do you guys do this? I just don't get it!" he exclaimed. Hizashi looked at him as if he had no idea what Oboro had just said. As much as English was beyond Oboro, the notion that people didn't find English easy was utterly foreign to Hizashi. Shouta and I, who were both somewhere in the middle, were just fascinated by how much these two didn't understand each other.

"Come again?" Hizashi asked.

"I have no idea how any of this works or what any of this means! I'm going to fail this year, guys." Oboro announced.

"But I don't understand, this is really basic and easy stuff. How do you not understand this?" Hizashi replied.

"I don't understand how you don't understand!"

"That doesn't even make sense!"

"You don't make sense!"

It was absolutely fascinating. I had never seen them this upset with each other and now they suddenly seemed like two completely different people, as if they had hated each other since the beginning of time. I couldn't wrap my head around how they could even argue like that in the first place.

Oboro and Hizashi had been the dream team since day one at U.A. They had hit it off right from the beginning (honestly, Oboro had hit it off with everyone from the beginning, but that was a different story), they were basically sharing one brain cell - but apparently not when it came to English.

"Amazing." Shouta breathed in absolute astonishment, as we were watching the two of them.

"I never knew they could go at it like that. It's like watching an accident." I agreed. Shouta looked over at me.

"How is your studying going?" he wanted to know. I sighed dramatically and buried my head in my hands.

"I just can't get the stupid theory of fire in my head. No matter how many times I read it, it just slips my brain as soon as I read the next sentence. I just can't keep it in my head." I complained.

"You sound like you need a study break." Shouta just commented. I raised my eyebrows in disbelief.

"Shou, I had a study break like ten minutes ago." I replied.

"Hey, hey, hey, did someone say study break?" Hizashi asked, interrupting his discussion with Oboro.

"I didn't say you could have one!" Shouta protested, but Oboro had already heard us talking about breaks.

"I think that's a beautiful idea, Shouta. We should have a break, my brain is literally fried and I can't focus on anything. I think I'm gonna need some food. Who else wants to order some takeout?" Oboro said.

"I would kill for some ice cream, to be honest." I admitted. Whenever I was pulling an all nighter studying, I got the weirdest cravings. And ice cream was absolutely way up on the list.

"We should get ourselves a complete three course meal or something..." Hizashi muttered. We all nodded. That sounded like it would just about hit the spot. Miso soup, sushi, a bowl of rice and some ice cream on top.

"You're all aware that we're broke, right?" Shouta said. We all glared at him for destroying our dreams like that. I mean, he was right. We were broke as hell. We had really splurged on midnight snacks today already, so if we got takeout it had to be something cheap. Definitely no three course meal.

"Shou, baby, couldn't you let us have this for a little longer?" I asked him with a sigh. He shook his head.

"Okay, everyone, stop complaining. Empty your pockets and let's see what we've got!" Oboro announced.

Shouta rummaged through his pockets and put down a few coins. It was shockingly little money. I genuinely had no idea how he managed to survive with that little money. He never had any cash on him, but somehow he always got food from the store. I hadn't been questioning it, but I suspected it had something to do with his parents and his living situation. I just didn't want to intrude.

"That's all I got. I'll take a nap, wake me up when you're going to continue studying." he said and leaned back, getting a blanket and quickly wrapping himself up in it. He closed his eyes and quickly dozed off.

"Someone needs to get him out of his power saver mode." Hizashi mumbled, shaking his head. He threw in a couple of notes. Out of all of us, he got by far the biggest allowance, but he was also the most irresponsible spender.

"I don't have a whole lot left this week." I said and put whatever I could find in my pockets in the middle.

"Yeah, same here." Oboro agreed and emptied his wallet over the small pile of money. It was pitiful.

If we were lucky we'd be able to get McDonald's with that kind of money and even then it wouldn't be a lot. Being broke really sucked. Hopefully we'd be able to put those days behind us, once we became pro heroes. But at this point, even that future seemed very uncertain.

"Well. I guess, we could always get a load of frozen stuff from the Kombini around the corner and throw it into the oven..." Oboro mumbled. Hizashi smiled encouragingly and shrugged nonchalantly.

"Hey, I'd love to have a healthy meal cooked by my fried Oboro Shirakumo." he said. I laughed and looked at Oboro.

"You know, you're such a mum sometimes and I mean that in the best sense possible." I told him.

"Good for you, I always wanted to be a Team Mum." Oboro answered with a big grin, before glancing at Shouta.

He had his eyes closed and was breathing calmly and evenly. I had no idea how he had managed to fall fast asleep in such a short time. But he seemed to be out cold for now. He looked really cute when he was sleeping. All I wanted to do was crawl under the blanket with him and cuddle up to him.

"Looks like I'm staying here to make sure Shou-Shou doesn't die in his sleep." I said to them.
