two weeks had passed since hongjoong had been admitted to the hospital, and seonghwa barely left his side. san and wooyoung stayed in hongjoong's dorm during this time, wanting to be close by to make sure they could be there for not just hongjoong, but all of their friends; jongho blamed seonghwa for what happened, creating tension between him and yeosang; and mingi and yunho were worried about all of their friends, which ended up strengthening their own relationship (however they still weren't official).
"do you think we should try and get seonghwa to come home for once?" wooyoung asked nervously as the two got ready to go visit hongjoong.
"we probably should, even if it's just for a few hours. i know hongjoong loves having him there and that it's really helping both of them to be together, but i also know that seonghwa probably hasn't been eating or sleeping while he's there. i'll see if i can talk to joongie alone about it though."
"i'll get seonghwa to come out of the room for a couple minutes, i wanna check on him privately too."
"perfect... hey, woo? i'm really proud of you. you haven't been away from home for this long since before i met you, it's a big step."
"my friends needed me, you needed me... i wasn't just not going to come."
"but still, it's a big step to be away for so long after never going away for more than a few hours or maybe a night."
"thank you, sannie... you know i'm proud of you, too. when we cleaned everything up i didn't expect you to be able to help so much, i thought maybe some of it would trigger you and you'd have to step out, but you didn't. maybe you felt a bit anxious because of it, but you got through it. not to mention how proud i am that you've been so strong and helpful to everyone through all of this..."
"thank you... cleaning things up was harder than i let off, but i needed to get through it. i needed to step out of my comfort zone."
"you did good, love. so good."
"i love you so much..."
"and i love you more. ready to go?"
san nodded and smiled, grabbing wooyoung's hand and leading him out of the room. they quickly made their way to the hospital and up to hongjoong's room, where they found seonghwa and hongjoong cuddled close to each other, asleep. wooyoung smiled brightly, squeezing san's hand a bit as they walked over to the bed.
"should we wake them?" san asked.
"let's leave them be for a little bit, they look comfortable right now.."
san smiled and pecked wooyoung's cheek, pulling him into his arms.
"it's been a really tough couple of weeks for everyone... they deserve the rest, don't they?"
"they really do."
san and wooyoung went and sat across the room, beginning to talk quietly, when yeosang came in, tears falling. wooyoung quickly got up and hugged him, then brought him over to where the boys had been sitting.
"what happened?"
"i-i told jongho i couldn't be with him..."
"sangie... what? why?"
"i can't handle him always throwing seonghwa under the bus... h-he's been one of my best friends for ages, a-and i know he's hurt me but he's still so important to me..."
"i'm sorry, yeosang..." san said softly, frowning. "sometimes he goes a bit overboard when he cares about someone and doesn't know when to stop."
"clearly he doesn't care as much as i thought... he promised he'd stop and he still hasn't," yeosang snapped.
