as the days went on, wooyoung slowly got better. san only left his side when it was necessary, and seonghwa and hongjoong stayed in the guest room to help the two as much as possible. it was crazy to the older two that san hadn't gotten sick despite being so close to wooyoung so much.
wooyoung woke up before san that morning, finally feeling like himself again. he smiled brightly, then got up and replaced his body with a stuffed animal to try and avoid san waking up. he knew that by now, seonghwa was probably awake, but was likely still in bed with hongjoong.
after the week he'd spent being sick, he wanted to give his friends something to thank them, so he decided on making the group breakfast. he gathered everything he needed and began to cook, hearing footsteps not too long after.
"you're looking better," seonghwa said softly. "how are you feeling?"
"finally like myself again... all thanks to you, joongie and san."
"how's san been doing?"
"okay... not his best but certainly not his worst. why do you ask?"
"a few reasons. first being that he hasn't been talking much to hongjoong or myself."
"oh... i didn't know that."
"he's been pretty much glued to you, woo. something's gotta be going on."
"he could just be worried about me?"
"maybe... but i'm not sure. just keep an eye on him, yeah?"
"of course... w-what are the other reasons?"
"i certainly can't say much, but he locked himself in the bathroom for a while last night after you had fallen asleep... i was worried."
"d-do you think...?"
"i'm not sure, woo... i'm really not sure. the last reason is because i know he hasn't been taking his pills again. joongie noticed that one."
"i-i feel like a shit boyfriend now..." wooyoung sighed. "how do i never notice?"
"wooyoung, it's not your fault... finish cooking, we can talk more after. you're going to burn the house down."
wooyoung nodded, chewing his lip, then went back to cooking. seonghwa started to set the table, and shortly after, hongjoong had made his way downstairs.
"good morning," he muttered softly.
"morning, love," seonghwa greeted, kissing hongjoong's forehead.
"when are you finally gonna kiss me on the lips?" hongjoong pouted.
"you're kidding, right? seonghwa hasn't kissed you?"
"not since everything with yeosang happened, no," seonghwa explained. "i want our first kiss to be special."
"but we've had our first kiss," hongjoong whined.
"no, it doesn't count, baby. just be patient, yeah?"
hongjoong nodded, but kept a pout on his face as he sat down at the table, causing a soft chuckle from seonghwa's lips.
"i can't believe you actually haven't kissed him, hwa. that's so not like you."
"you've never seen me actually fall for someone, woo. every other relationship i've had has been more of a fling, this is different."
"how so?" hongjoong questioned.
"well... how do i put this? i'd live for you, i'd die for you, not to mention how it hurts me to see you hurting. i'd do absolutely anything to get rid of all the bad in your life. you only deserve good."
