"san!" seonghwa called out, fidgeting a bit with the hem of his shirt.

instead, wooyoung entered the room, appearing to be half awake.

"where's san?"

"napping. he wasn't doing great this morning, his mom tried to call him."

"i-i'm sorry... he just told me he would help me get ready for today, that's why i just called out for him."

"don't be sorry, hwa. it's okay."

"i'm taking joongie out today... i-i'm gonna ask him."

"and you're nervous?"

seonghwa nodded, chewing at his lip a bit.

"hwa... you're going to be fine. joongie loves you, you know that. this is going to mean the world to him, just hearing the words come out of your mouth."

"you're sure? i-i just want this to be special..."

"a couple of months ago i was talking to joong about your relationship. he told me he didn't mind not being official, because you're his and he's yours. and everyone knows that. he's patient with you because he knows that you don't want to mess things up. don't worry about it being anything huge, just spend your date how you usually do and pop the question. he's going to be so happy."

"you're sure?"

"absolutely. you've got this, hwa."

"thanks, woo. now go get back to san, i know you're worried about him."

"tell me how it goes when you get back. see you," wooyoung smiled, waving and leaving the room.

seonghwa smiled and a few minutes later, hongjoong returned to their room from the bathroom, his hair wet and cheeks flushed.

"hi, baby..." seonghwa whispered as hongjoong clung to him.

"hi seongie..."

"are you almost ready to go?"

"yeah... i am," hongjoong muttered, holding back a sigh.

"what's wrong, joongie? you sound upset..."

"i just... i made the mistake of looking at myself in the mirror a-and now i don't feel good anymore..." hongjoong sighed, letting tears build up in his eyes.

"baby... you're so beautiful, inside and out. i have to stop myself from staring sometimes because i just can't take my eyes off of you and your absolutely ethereal looks. every inch of you is perfect in my eyes, yeah?"

"b-but i'm not perfect... i-i'm covered in scars and i'm too skinny a-and—"

seonghwa pressed his lips to hongjoong's sweetly, quieting the younger.

"your scars don't change how perfect you are to me. i think they're beautiful. and you're not too skinny, baby. i know you hate how you have trouble gaining weight but it's okay. you look amazing to me. everything about you is absolutely stunning."

"y-you mean that?"

"of course i do. you're my everything, hongjoong."

"t-thank you... i-i'll go finish getting ready now," hongjoong muttered, getting up.

"only if you want to go out. if you don't want to go out, it's okay, baby. we can stay home and cuddle."

"i-i think i want to do that..."

seonghwa nodded and smiled small, then laid back in their bed and opened his arms for hongjoong to lay down with him. an excited hongjoong jumped on the bed and laid beside seonghwa, cuddling close to the older's body.

"hey... i was gonna ask you this when we went out, but what would you think about being official?"

"for real?" hongjoong asked, staring up at seonghwa with stars in his eyes.

"kim hongjoong, my beautiful, incredible baby... would you please officially be my boyfriend?"

"of course i will, seongie... i-i thought you'd never ask..."

seonghwa kissed hongjoong's forehead gently, smiling small.

"i'm never going to let you go, joongie... i promise."

meanwhile in the other room, san was holding onto wooyoung's waist tightly, too afraid to move from the position he was in. he shouldn't have answered the phone without looking to see who it was, but he did, and now he was terrified that his mother would find him.

"sannie... hey, it's okay. i'm right here, she's not. she can't hurt you, san."

"i-i— w-what if she finds us?"

"she won't... it's okay, san. i promise."

"b-but—"

"san..."

"i'm scared, woo..." san whispered.

"i know... i know, but it's okay. i'm right here, i'm not going anywhere. i've got you..."

"always?"

"always."
