yeosang sat on the train, staring out the window blankly with tears trailing down his face. all he could think about was the stinging feeling in his cheek, and everything that led to jongho hitting him.

"he's not being a shitty friend, jongie."

"but he is! you're upset, sangie. he's not answering you, what does that tell you?"

"you don't know him like i do. i'm upset, yes... but wooyoung isn't doing this to hurt me. he's doing this to hurt himself."

"bullshit!"

"jongho... it's been almost a year since he lost his sister. he's still grieving and it's probably getting really hard knowing the anniversary of her death is coming up. when she first died, he pushed everyone away. he didn't answer anyone's texts or calls for weeks. he does this when he's hurting... he doesn't do it to hurt others."

"stop making excuses for him, yeosang," jongho muttered, grabbing onto the small boy's wrists.

yeosang whimpered, squeezing his eyes shut.

"l-let me go..."

"when are you gonna realize that it doesn't matter why he's hurting you? you're upset, and it's his fault! admit it!"

"it's not his fault that i'm sensitive, jongho. it's not his fault that i'm upset. i'm not upset with him, i'm upset that i don't know how to help him. now, let me go," yeosang snapped, pushing jongho off of him.

jongho stared at him in shock for a moment, and quickly brought his hand up and slapped the boy across the face. yeosang whimpered loudly, stepping back from the younger and moving towards the door.

"yeosang... i-i didn't—"

"s-stay away from me!"

"yeosang—" jongho tried again, moving towards the boy.

"n-no... i-i can't... i-i'm gonna stay with my parents, i-i can't be near you right now..."

"sangie... babe..."

"d-don't! i-i'm going back to my dorm, g-getting my stuff, a-and leaving... d-don't fucking follow me."

"i'm sorry, yeosang... i'm so sorry..."

and with that, yeosang left, barely able to hold himself together as he ran across campus to his own dorm room and hurriedly packed a bag full of stuff to bring home with him.

the train stopped and yeosang sighed shakily, getting off and looking around for san and wooyoung. he quickly found the two, wooyoung still on san's back, his eyes drooping closed.

"yeosang! over here!" san called out, waving to the older.

yeosang cracked a small smile and ran over to the boys, wooyoung getting down and quickly hugging his best friend.

"we're here, sangie... it's gonna be okay."

yeosang held onto wooyoung tightly and san took the boy's bag, then patted him on the back lightly.

"are you okay if we stop by the cemetery on the way back? woo and i had been planning to visit jisu today."

"y-yeah... i think i need to see her too."

"do you miss her, sangie?" wooyoung asked quietly, grabbing san's hand.

"a ton... she was like a little sister to me. i-i don't think i'll ever fully accept the fact that she's gone."
