visiting jisu gave wooyoung an incredible amount of strength. he felt a lot better than before, allowing him to focus once again on helping san.
now that he was back to going to therapy, san was getting back on track, making things feel a lot lighter. it had been a few weeks since his first time back, meaning it had also been a few weeks since everything with hongjoong had happened and the boys' visit with jisu. hongjoong had distanced himself from san since that night, afraid that he had really upset him. this upset san a little bit, but seonghwa ensured it was nothing to worry about.
unfortunately, wooyoung had come down with a fever overnight, san waking up to find him no longer in his arms. this worried san, so he quickly made his way downstairs, only to find wooyoung curled up on the couch, looking absolutely miserable.
"baby..."
"d-don't come near me, sannie," wooyoung warned. "i-i don't want to get you sick..."
"no, i'm going to take care of you, love. i don't care if i get sick while doing it, i just want you comfy."
wooyoung pouted, wanting to protest, but knowing that san wouldn't listen. san let out a soft laugh in response, going over and pulling wooyoung into his lap.
"have you had anything to eat, woo?"
"n-no... i-i'm not hungry."
"you need to have something, bub..."
"no, sannie... i-i can't."
"why not?"
"i-it'll hurt..."
san nodded, deciding he would wait a bit until he tried to get wooyoung to eat, then kissed the boy's cheek.
"how about some water? have you had anything to drink?"
wooyoung shook his head, clinging to san like his life depending on it.
"let's get you some water and medicine and then get you up to bed, yeah? we can cuddle and watch a movie upstairs while you rest, then we'll see how you're doing."
"okay," wooyoung whispered, wrapping his arms around san's neck so the boy could comfortably get up with him.
san stood up, helping wooyoung to wrap his legs around the older's waist, then made his way into the kitchen and grabbed a couple of cold water bottles.
"i-i only need one, sannie."
"you need to stay hydrated, bub. one for right now, one for a little later. yeah?"
"fine," wooyoung muttered, letting out a small huff.
"let's get you in bed and then i'll grab you some medicine."
wooyoung nodded, nuzzling his head into the crook of san's neck while they made their way upstairs. san laid wooyoung down and tucked him under the blankets, then went into the bathroom and quickly found medicine for wooyoung to take.
san made his way back into their room and helped wooyoung to sit up, then handed him the medicine and water bottle. wooyoung quickly took the medicine and grimaced, then put down the water and laid back. san got into bed beside him and held him close, stroking the boy's hair gently to make him feel more comfortable. wooyoung hummed lightly at the feeling, closing his eyes and pulling the blankets tighter around him, feeling chilly.
"cold, love?"
"mhmm..."
"i can get you one of my hoodies, would that help?"
"p-please?" wooyoung asked with doe eyes.
san smiled small, nodding and then got up and went over to grab wooyoung a hoodie. while he did, wooyoung started to feel like he was going to throw up and quickly got up, shakily running into the bathroom. san instantly dropped the hoodies he was going to have wooyoung choose between and followed the boy into the bathroom.
