"how are you doing, love?" wooyoung asked, gently rubbing san's arm.

"better... i'm still a little shaken up by her calling, but i'm doing okay..."

"you're sure?"

"as sure as i can be. we're close to an hour away, i just need to focus on something else."

"how about a walk? find some new spots to go?"

"yeah, that sounds nice... should we see if hwa and joongie wanna come or no?"

"if you want them to come then we can ask them. i'm not opposed to it," wooyoung shrugged.

"do you want it to be just us?" san asked nervously.

"sannie, i don't mind either way. what matters to me is it helps you get your mind off of this."

san smiled small and pulled wooyoung into a warm hug.

"i love you."

"i love you more," wooyoung smiled.

"i think we should offer... make it like a double date. it'll be fun," san said excitedly.

"sounds like a plan. let's get ready, love."

san nodded and the two got up, then grabbing clothes and getting ready for their day. san was a bit slow in doing so, the painful thought of his mother calling hitting him over and over again. wooyoung noticed this too, but had to give san the space he knew was necessary and wait for the boy to bring it up himself.

"sannie, i'm going to go ask hwa and joongie if they want to come with us. you finish up getting ready, okay?"

"okay.."

wooyoung quickly left the room and knocked on the other bedroom door, hearing a soft "come in" from the other side and opening the door. hongjoong was curled up in seonghwa's arms, the older gently rubbing the boy's back and caressing his hair lightly. the younger of the two was fast asleep, tears still staining his cheeks from hours before.

"hey..." wooyoung started, looking at hongjoong with a small frown on his face.

"don't worry about him, he's doing better now."

"what happened?"

"he was overthinking... let the dark thoughts about himself get to his head. we never went out, but i did ask him."

"and?"

"we're official now," seonghwa said with a smile. "what's up, woo?"

"do you guys want to come on a walk with us? san wanted to invite you two."

"i'll see if joongie is willing to. is san doing okay?"

"better than i expected, but not doing great. he just wants to get his mind off of it though."

"ahh, i see. i'll wake joongie and let you know what he says, okay?"

"sounds good. thanks, hwa."

wooyoung left the room and went back to his own, wrapping his arms around san from behind as the older fixed his hair in the mirror.

"what'd they say?" san asked, a small smile appearing on his lips at the feeling of wooyoung's arms around him.

"joongie was sleeping when i went in there. hwa's gonna wake him up and see how he feels about it. oh, and they're finally official."

"yes! finally! joongie was probably ecstatic."

"they were going to go out today but never did. joongie wasn't feeling too great about himself earlier, i guess. but hwa helped from the sounds of it."

"good. i'm glad."

"let's relax for a bit while we wait to find out if they're coming with us, yeah?"

instead of answering, san pulled wooyoung into their bed and held him close, peppering the boy's temple in soft kisses.

"i know i'm having a rough day, but i'm still so happy that we have this life together," san explained.

wooyoung giggled and smiled, looking into san's eyes.

"i'm so glad that you've found happiness, sannie. you really deserve it."

"i found it because of you. you helped me find it, woo."

"i'm happy that i did, love..."

"i want this forever... you, me and this happiness i've found."

"well i can promise you that i'm not going anywhere."

"that's all i could ever ask for."
