Chapter Three
It was the first day of classes, and Liam entered my mind. I had never expected such an attractive boy to show up in my dorm room, Nor did I expect us to have the conversation we did. I also didn't expect Megan to act the way she did. She'd said very little about it, but when I'd mentioned Liam being in our room, she behaved like she didn't like it.
That, coupled with the nerves, had me wishing to go to the toilet, but I refused to do that. I wouldn't throw up here. Something I'd promised myself and Mattie I would stop. One of the few two things my family wasn't privy to, and I wanted it to stay that way. No need to dwell on that when today I embarked on a new adventure.
The day was officially upon me. I regretted taking such an early English Course. Liam had told me he would be there, and it excited me, but it made me nervous. I did not know this guy even if we had a mutual friend, although I wondered if he was only Henry's friend and not Megan's. Mattie would have to hear about this.
It had been so long since I'd even experienced excitement about someone of the opposite sex. I had my reasons not to. Megan had Art with me, but as she had informed, her first one didn't begin until nine-thirty. Naturally, she hadn't woken up yet, and I didn't exactly blame her. I tried to shift through my closet, looking for something presentable for my first day. This wasn't going to be a simple decision, so making a compromise, I decided I'd dress presentable for myself.
I wore an old earth day t-shirt that still looked pretty nice and a simple pair of black pants. As I threw my supplies into my bookbag, I prepared to leave. I walked over to Megan's bed, telling her I'd see her later. She mumbled something incoherently and turned over. I did envy her getting to sleep later, but I always got up early when facing something unfamiliar. So I wouldn't have been able to go back to sleep, anyway. Going outside the dorm with a whole new experience.
Around me, many other students began their day as well. Some like me experiencing the first day, while others had done this all before. Despite my nerves, I refused to be like I had before. This began a new day and a new me. I had feared I wouldn't find my class, but found it easily, much to my relief. It comprised a small room with simple desks. Not what I'd expect from a famous school such as this. Perhaps this meant there wouldn't be that many people in here.
The teacher wasn't present, but two other students were. I tried to study them both. The first was a girl who seemed completely engrossed in her book. Her light brown chin-length hair and slight freckles gave her an all-American girl appearance. I turned to the boy. He had his head on the desk and appeared to be napping. Late night? He mumbled something incoherent, and as I turned back, the girl looked as well and we shared a smile. Not wanting to be rude, I introduced myself.
"I'm Britt. Well, Brittany," I Introduced.
"Max. Nice to meet you," she smiled.
Max? Could she be the girl Megan was telling me about?
