Chapter: Eighty-One
As Thanksgiving neared, we were at long last planning to go see Eleanor and her family for Thanksgiving dinner. Tonight we were supposed to be going to mom's house for our own dinner and my grandparents were also going to be coming down. The holidays were getting a lot busier. Niles had informed me we'd be staying the night at Eleanor's daughter's house.
Of course, I was nervous about meeting all of them, but I was also very excited. They were my family. My daughter's family. It was strange to think about, but still an amazing gift. One, I had Niles to thank for. Without him, I wouldn't have had this beautiful family to meet. We'd be going tomorrow around noon and I was excited about this time with them, but then I couldn't forget the dangers that we were leaving behind. I smiled as Niles helped me pack my bags.
I'd missed Eleanor a lot, even though I'd only met her once. She was my daughter and the only living child I had. Of course, I wanted to see her, and I wanted to see my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Niles seemed very excited, and I loved to see him this way. After all that had happened, we needed this. Curiosity was getting the better of me and I had this strange urge to see Shika and see what he looked like. I needed to know what he looked like should he ever escape again. Let's hope it didn't happen. I knew Liam would forbid it, and in fact, he'd forbid everyone from going. I'd asked Niles, and he made it clear he didn't approve of me meeting him.
You're sure you're up for dinner with my family?" I smiled.
"Yes, though it may be the most terrifying thing I've ever done. Then again, you know I've meant several of your families."
"Which was your favorite?"
"How about which was my least favorite? I have tons of stories to tell you, and I think I might share some on the drive to your mum's house."
"You're going to make me wait?"
"Yes, I am. Plus, I'll have more to tell you on the plane ride."
"Are we really taking another plane?"
"You haven't gotten over your fear yet?"
"No, that's more terrifying than any demon."
"Don't worry, it will be fine," he said, meeting my lips.
"We have some time, so lets-
"What's up, guys?" Niles groaned as Louis's voice sounded as he opened the door and walked inside, a big smile on his face.
"Any reason why you're here?" He questioned dully.
"Yes, a load of them. The lady here may not know this yet, but dinner at her mum's house is canceled. Or it will be."
"What? Why?"
"Because you will be attending dinner at Victor's house and we're all invited."
"Victor has a house?"
