Chapter: Eighty-Three
"I'm nervous," I admitted.
"About meeting Eleanor's family? After what you dealt with tonight, it should be nothing."
"It's something. It's very special to me."
"They all can't wait to meet you and they will love you."
"I hope so."
"They will." He smiled.
He took my hand as he drove with the other down the long driveway. We were headed straight to the airport now, and the growing ball of nervousness in my stomach was rising quickly. Still, after all this time, I was still terrified of flying.
"It's alright, baby," he soothed, rubbing my hand.
I tilted my head in his direction and offered him a small smile. "I know, but I can't shake this feeling."
He gripped my hand tightly. "You know I'd never willingly let anything happen to you." He promised.
"I know that." I smiled.
"Good. Never forget it."
"Never," I promised both him and myself.
"So you had questions? What do you want to know? About Eleanor's family or your past lives?"
"I'd really like to know about both."
"Well, I'm sure your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will want to tell you about themselves. So let's start with your past lives."
"Which was your favorite?"
"Of mine? That's impossible to choose love. Anytime I was with you was a happy time."
"One in particular."
"The one where you and I were married and had Eleanor. That was the closest to perfect I believe we've ever gotten. It just lasted such a short time and ended way before I was ready for it, too."
"I must have been happy, too."
"You were. It was the happiest I've seen you since you were married to Liam, had Xavier, and was pregnant with Ellie."
"That must have been hard on you," I frowned.
"It was, but I also couldn't be completely unhappy seeing you both so happy and that Xavier sure was something. He could have rivaled Abel in the cute department. Never seen any cuter kids besides our Eleanor, of course."
"Liam really was happy too? He seemed like it in my vision."
"Yes, and I'd say he's not been happier since then."
"Have you?"
"In these moments with you, yes. Even though it's been more dangerous than ever, I can't regret them. Being there in the moment with you and Eleanor reuniting after so long was such a wonderful experience. I'll never forget it as long as I live. I think seeing you with her family will be that next set of memories for me that I hold dear."
