Kiyoshi was your childhood friend. You thought of him nothing more than a brother who's always been there for you.

Although, he thought different. He thought of you as more than a friend, more than a sister. He thought of you as a lover.

You never knew about his feelings for you because he didn't want to ruin the bond you and him had.

He tried telling you, but couldn't, because you were either busy or because he bailed most of the time.

"(First Name), I need your advice," your best friend told you.

"On...?"

"I need advice on confessing to someone."

"You love someone?" You questioned your best friend.

"Yeah, and I need your advice because I wouldn't be able to take it if he full-on rejects me," she stated.

"Well, it depends what type of person he is," you explained.

"Huh...?"

"There are some guys who'll reject you and hurt you internally and there are some guys who'll reject you softy, so you wouldn't get hurt," you explained.

"Uh..."

"Who is it, anyway?" You asked.

"Kiyoshi-kun," your best friend answered and your eyes widened.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Wait, do you like him, too?" Your best friend questioned. "I mean, you're his childhood friend, so you-."

"I only think of him as a brother, (Best Friend's Name)," you interrupted.

"Oh... Well, anyway, you got any advices on how to confess?"

"If I were you, I'd just tell him straightforwardly. If he rejects you, he'd say it so he wouldn't hurt you. Teppei isn't the type to hurt girls. He's a sweet guy," you smiled.

"Okay. Thanks, (First Name)," your best friend thanked.

"Anytime."

After basketball practice...

You were climbing to the rooftop, until you heard voices and stopped mid-way.

"What is it, (Best Friend's Last Name)?" Kiyoshi asked.

"Well, I... I love you," she said quietly.

After a while, Kiyoshi finally replied back, "I'm sorry. I don't feel the same way."

"... I understand. Well, as long as you think of me as a friend, I'm fine with that," your best friend said, hiding her sadness behind a fake smile.

"Well, I was actually gonna ask you something," Kiyoshi said, sitting on the ground as your best friend did the same.

"What is it?"

"I need advice on how to confess to someone," Kiyoshi answered.

"Is it (First Name)?" You best friend guessed.

"Um, yeah. I'm sorry that it wasn't you. I only think of you as a friend," Kiyoshi replied.

"Well, as long as you acknowledge me, that's good enough," your best friend smiled. "Anyway, about (First Name)... I don't really know, sorry."

"Oh, it's alright. Anyway, I should go now. My grandparents might get worried," Kiyoshi said and walked towards the ladder.

"Oh, ok, see you tomorrow, then," your best friend said.
