A couple of days had passed since I got the letters and I was determined not to let them effect my Christmas spirit. It was now the day before Christmas Eve and Sami and I were in the mood to bake. "I think we should have a baking competition," Angelo suggested as he walked into the kitchen.

"Excuse me?" I questioned. "Guys versus girls cookie bake-off," Angelo explained. "You have got to stop watching the food channel," I said. Angelo rolled his eyes.

"Someone sounds scared. Wouldn't you agree Dem?" Angelo asked looking down at Demery whose face held an almost identical smile to Angelo. "Mhm, mama's scared," Dem said.

"She is not!" Sami snapped. "Is too. It's okay mama." Dem said hugging me. "First of all, I'm not scared." I began. "I don't know you sounded kind of scared to me and Dem," Angelo smirked.

"She was being nice cause when you two lose Dem's going to cry and you're going to be a sore loser," Sami said mugging them both. "Because let's be real you might be able to cook but you definitely can't bake," I said mimicking Sami's pose.

"Is that a challenge?" Angelo questioned. "What do we get when we win?" I asked. "When?" Dem asked with a huff. "What do you want?" Angelo asked. "Hmmm." I hummed as I thought about it. "I want one of those," Sami said pointing at my necklace that Angelo got me.

"Why didn't you just ask for one? I would've got it for you." Angelo said. "I don't know I didn't know I could ask for something like that." She said getting all shy. "If I spoil your mama then I'm definitely going to spoil you too. Never be scared to ask me or your mama for something okay?" Angelo said squatting to her level. "Okay," Sami said with a smile and a nod.

"That doesn't mean go overboard that goes for all of you, especially you," I said pointing at Angelo. "Yeah, okay." He said with an innocent smile. "Now what do you want?" Angelo asked looking at me. "I want to drive your baby, Midnight," I stated. Angelo's eyes widened at my request.

Midnight was the very first car he bought with his own money so it meant a lot to him. He had driven me around in it a few times and that car was amazing, especially after he fixed it up. However, because of the time he put into it he never let anyone touch it. I get why but I just wanted to drive it once. "Well?" I asked just before the doorbell rang. "I'll get it," I called.

"Yeah and while you're getting the door pick something else." He called. "Mean," I said as I walked away. I walked to the front door taking a looked through the peephole seeing Nadia's face. I opened the door seeing Nadia and Marquise with a bag in her hand.

"Hey what are you two doing here?" I asked. I was only expecting Rod, Tae, and Haseem to be arriving this early. I smiled at my adorable nephew barely paying any attention to Nadia when I heard my sister's voice. "Maja—," I could hear the crack in her voice as my head shot up. Her cheeks and nose were red. Her eyes were puffy and glassy and her face held a deep frown.

"What happened? Who are we jumping?" I questioned as her phone went off. She sighed with an annoyed huff leaving her lips. I stepped aside letting her in before leading the way into the living room.

"Hey, auntie Nay!" Sami called from the kitchen. "Hi, girlie." She said back. "Hey," Dem said as he stood with Nicky in his arms. "Hey Dem," Nadia said before turning to me. "I'm going to go put him down for a nap, yeah?" She said. I nodded my head as I closed the door and she headed to the back.

"Was that Nadia?" I turned and smiled when I saw Nicky's smiling chubby face. "Hi fat man," I said taking him in my arms.

"Yeah, it was her," I said as I kissed Nicky's cheek. "Where's J.J.?" Angelo asked. "I have no idea," I mumbled. "Was she crying?" He questioned. "It looks like it," I said nodding my head.
