Angelo
MJ and I had ended up back in bed after attempting to get the day started. "Angelo get off me." "It's our anniversary, so no. You have to love me today." I argued. "I love you every day but that does not mean you have to lay on top of me." I couldn't keep my hands off her if I was honest. Once she hit her 30s something about her had changed and I wanted her more now than ever.
"Keep your hands to yourself." "Mama!" We heard that tiny voice say, and I smiled. After the longest nine months of my life, I finally got to see our beautiful little girl. When I got the chance to hold her for the first time the minute I laid eyes on her I broke down.
I couldn't describe what was going through my head but somehow MJ knew. After they were both cleaned up and we were alone she told me that she was feeling Eva's absence heavy that day. Those words hit me hard. Because I was too.
This should have been our second daughter together and it wasn't. She told me it was okay to be both sad and happy that day. Sad about the daughter we never got to meet and happy for the daughter in my arms. There should be no guilt or shame for how we were feeling, and she was right.
Then she did something that solidified the love, respect, and care I had for her. When it came to our daughter's name we had a list, and I was okay with whatever name she chose from it, but she went completely off that list and suggested the name Gia. Her reason for the name was because she wasn't having anymore after her and she thought Gia was a cute way to give me a junior without being too spot on.
And for all that she did, from carrying and birthing our baby, to giving me a junior I had to go all out for her. I upgraded her truck and got her some jewelry but out of everything I got for her she lost her mind at the family photo I'd painted.
I walked over to the door swinging it open before looking down. Gia covered her tiny face giggling. "Dada!" she squealed as I scooped her up leaving kisses all over her cheeks. She laughed harder bringing a smile to my face. It messed with my head knowing she was going to be two next year. I felt like we were just bringing her home.
"How's my little bug?" "Bye-bye." She said waving. "Are you leaving me?" "Mama!" Sami called. "Your mini-me is calling." MJ laughed but didn't attempt to deny it because we all knew Sami loved her mother.
"Hi, pretty girl." She cooed walking over and poking Gia. "Dad!" Dem called. MJ snorted laughing hard before taking Gia in her arms. "Oh look whose mini-me is calling now." I lightly flicked her neck before following her downstairs. "You screamed."
"Surprise!" The kids yelled and MJ covered her mouth at the sight. They had made us breakfast. Waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, orange juice, and fresh fruit. "Happy anniversary," Dem said.
"She's crying again," Junior said. "She always cries," Sami said moving to hug MJ. "Girl hush. My sweet babies. I love it." She cooed. "Good, it took us forever to make," AJ said coming to hug us. "That's because you people kept almost burning the house down." Dimitri chimed in.
"Anything for the best parents we could ask for," Junior added. At that, she really began to cry, and I couldn't lie it almost brought a tear to my eyes. Hearing them say such sweet things touched my heart. Gia laid her head on my shoulder. "Okay, okay. I'm done." MJ said wiping her eyes while I had already moved to start making my plate. "Wow." "What? We're starving and everything smells good." She soon joined me, and we all made our plates.
Maja
"Mom. Dad." Junior called. "Hmm," Angelo said while I was feeding Gia a small piece of a waffle. When he didn't say anything I looked at him. "What's wrong?" AJ cleared his throat. "We've both talked to our therapist, Mr. Roberts, Dimitri, and well um, here." Junior slid a legal-sized envelope towards us. Angelo wiped his hands off before opening it. I waited expectantly as he read the papers. "Well? What is it?"
