Maja

3 days later

"I don't want you to go." Sami cried wrapped her arms tightly around my neck. I looked at my mama and sisters as they looked me sad as well. "I know mamas but it's just a couple more weeks then I'm back home for a whole month," I said rubbing her back. "We're going to FaceTime every day like we always do and the time will go by in no time. Please don't be sad." I pleaded. She sniffed before looking up at me. "Okay, mommy. Promise we can talk every day?" She asked. "I promise." "Okay." She said softly as she laid her head on my shoulder. "You want to walk me to the car?" She nodded her head. We sat in the car talking until it was time to go. "Alright call me as soon as you can't see the car anymore okay, but make sure nana's not listening in okay," I whispered the last part making her giggle as we looked at my mama. "Okay." She whispered back.

We had finally gotten back to school and I went to my room and got ready for my school week. After spending several hours of doing homework, showering, and getting my clothes ready there was a knock on the door. "Come in," I called. The door slowly opened and Omar's head popped in. "We're going to get some food. You want to come?" He asked. I nodded my head and threw on some pants. I walked into the living room seeing everyone sitting around before my eyes connected to Angelo. I haven't seen him since that night we talked about his mother and I thought everything was good between us but clearly, I was wrong. Everyone looked at us before Nadia broke the silence. "So, we should get going." She said as all eyes broke from us and they followed her out the door. Angelo sighed before heading for the door only for me to grab him. "Are you okay?" I asked. "I'm fine." He said looking at me. "Did something happen between now and since we last talked?" I questioned. He stared at me not speaking before he walked off. I stood there alone and annoyed.

Two days later (Wednesday)

"Maja where are you going?" Arnell asked as I walked past her and Reggie. I had stormed out of the café after Angelo sat up in my face let some random woman come and sit on his lap and kiss all on him. I looked at her with a deadly look and she took a step back. "Damn," Reggie said. I kept walking as Omar filled them in on what happened. School had come and gone and we were in the final week before the end of the semester and Angelo had continued to act funny towards me. If he wasn't being dry towards me then he was ignoring me completely. It was one thing to give me the silent treatment for no reason but to sit here in my face and disrespect me. I took a breath to calm down. I looked down at my phone seeing Angelo was calling me. I scoffed before I rejected the call before heading up to the football field. I sat in the stands thinking about how stupid I was to bring this man into my life. "What the fuck is wrong with you. You knew better. You knew not to catch feelings but you did anyway. His dumbass was probably cheating the whole time." I mumbled to myself. "Oh, bitch and you let him fuck. More than once!" I said throwing my hands up in exasperation before my phone started ringing again. I declined it and almost instantly it started ringing again. I looked seeing it was Haseem.

I decided to turn off my phone as I sat there. I sat outside until the sun started to set before I decided to head home. I walked into my apartment and past the living to see all the light where off so I assumed no one was here. I headed to my room and closed my door.

"You can hate me right now but you'll look back and realize I what I'm doing is right." He said kissing me before he opened the door. I turned my back to him expecting to hear my door close but instead, I heard a deep voice. "Maj." I turned to see Dimitri standing there.

Angelo

"...you proved yet again why I don't fuck with people." Her words kept repeating over and over. I knew I had been a dick to Maja for the past couple of weeks and I feel felt like shit having to do it. After getting to know Maja, spending time with her I knew what I was doing was for the best and in time hopefully, she would understand that. "Hey!" I looked up at J.J. "You coming to the café with us?" He asked. I looked around at everyone as they stood waiting for my answer. I looked at Maja before nodding my head. We all slowly made our way out of the class before heading outside. I trailed behind Maja staring at as she laughed with Omar and Rocky.

After grabbing our food, we sat down at one of the tables and everything was good until this girl, Josie, who I hadn't fucked with since before I started dating Maja came out of nowhere and sat in my lap. "You haven't called me in ages," Josie said smiling. "Hey, Josie," I said confused. "Where have you been baby?" She smiled looking at me but my eyes went to Maja who had just walked up to the table looking at us confused. "Maj..." I couldn't even finish my sentence before she was gone. "Nigga what the fuck is wrong with you!?" Omar yelled standing up. "You really just sat here and let this hoe sit in your lap and fill all on you." Omar smacked his lips before walking off. "Hoe!? Nigga who the fuck are you calling a hoe?" Josie yelled standing up. "You, bitch," Nadia said standing up. She was about snatch Josie up when J.J. grabbed her. "I suggest you leave quickly while I'm being nice," J.J. said. "Josie just go." I finally said. She looked at Nadia and J.J. before scoffing. She turned and looked at me kissing my cheek before saying, "Call me later."

Nadia scoffed staring at me before she rolled her eyes and walked off. One by one the guys followed her until it was just Haseem and me. "I know what you're doing." He said. I looked at him before I got up and walked out with him following me. "She told me you met Sami...." He said making me stop. "She told me what happened with Dimitri." I turned and looked at him. "She doesn't want to be with him."

"She doesn't know what she wants. According to her, he's changed and if he has I don't want to be the one standing in her way of having her family be whole. I didn't think I would fall so hard for her but I did and I want nothing but good things for her and Sami. After all the shit, she's gone through she deserves only good things." I said mumbling the last part. Haseem came over and grabbed my shoulder. "Are you absolutely positive about this?" He asked. "Angelo. Haseem." Haseem turned around and looked to see Dimitri standing there. "I'm sure," I said.

Haseem had convinced everyone to go look for Maja while Dimitri and I waited in her apartment. I was leaning against a wall watching as Dimitri looked around at everything before he walked passed me. I grabbed his arm stopping him. "If you hurt her in any way...." I paused as he looked from where my hand gripped his arm back to me. "I will make sure breathing becomes very hard for you," I said staring at him. "You really care about her, huh?" He questioned. I stayed silent as I continued to stare him down. "I would never do anything to hurt her." I let him go before I walked into Maja room and sat down. We were waiting for about 30 minutes until I heard the front door open.

"We need to talk," I said as she stared at me as I sat on her bed. "For what? After tomorrow we won't have anything to talk about." She said with a shrug. I stood up walking towards her. "Please understand that I'm doing what I think is best for you," I said pinning her against the wall. "Ignoring me and disrespecting me is what's best for me, alright cool. Is that all?" She said with a mug. "You know how hard it is for me to open up to people and after hearing all the dark and damaged shit about my life today you proved yet again why I don't fuck with people."

"You can hate me but you'll look back and realize what I'm doing is right," I said kissing her before I opened the door. I looked over at Dimitri and we nodded our heads at each other before I headed to the door. "Maj." I heard him say before I walked out of the door.
