Angelo

I was looking out of my window when I heard the door open. I looked to see Maja beautiful yet frowning face standing there. "Are you all settled?" I asked turning back to the window. "For the most part," She said. I finally turned and looked at her which gave me a chance to take in how she looked. Her hair was shorter she looked happier although not at this very moment, she does seem happier overall. "Stop staring at me." She said drawing me out of my thoughts. "Maja..."

"You can't just leave and then come back taking over my life. You chose to go. If it was so easy for you to leave you should have just stayed gone." I walked towards her causing her to back away from. She only after hitting her back against the bookshelf. "You know nothing about how hard it was for me to leave you," I said staring into her eyes as her tropical scent wrapped around me.

"I haven't thought about another woman while I was gone. So, don't think for a second leaving you wasn't hard." I said. She gasped softly before she pushed me away. We both took a moment to take a breath. "Look you're my boss. We're co-workers nothing more and nothing less. We will remain professional." She said calmly but one look at her eyes said it all. It had been a while for her.

"Take the rest of the day off," I said walking to my desk. "What?" She asked confused. "Take the rest of the day off. Samiya's sick you've been given a lot to take in, so take the rest of the day off." She looked at me before nodding her head. Once she was gone Damon walked in and sat down. "So, how'd it go?" He asked. "Well, she definitely still has feelings for me. Whether she going to admit that any time soon is a mystery." Damon chuckled. "Didn't it take her a minute to realize she liked you before?"

"True but I hadn't fucked up yet." He nodded his head agreeing. "Let me ask you this, you think you're in love?" I looked over at him. "I know I am. Before her most of the women I dealt with I could never see myself within the long run, but Maja.... I could see a future with her. I've told her things that I would never tell another living soul and so has she. I can't just let her go. I need her to understand that I didn't leave because I wanted to but I thought it was for the greater good." He stood up and looked at me. "Let me know if you need help because I have never heard you talk about a woman like that." I nodded my head.

Maja

After Angelo let me head home I walked through the door and plopped down on the couch. "So are you still mad at me or...," Arnell asked. "No," I said tiredly. "Good, how was your day?" She smiled. Before I could answer Samiya came running in with Nadia, Rod, and Tae trailing her. "Hey, baby?" I said as she came and sat next to me. "Hi mama, look what I made." She said holding up her two matching bracelets. "Wow, these are so pretty," I said gushing over them. "This one's for you and this one is mine." She smiled making one of her little dimples pop out. "Really for me. I think I could cry." I said covering my face. "No mama, don't cry." She said hugging me. "Fine only if you make me more." Her smile grew even bigger and she nodded her making her curls bounce wildly.

"Okay." She said as she ran off. "Where are you going?" I asked confused. "I have to go come up with some more ideas!" She yelled. I chuckled before looking at my siblings and cousin. "So, finish what you were about to say," Arnell said. I sighed. "As you all know Angelo's back," I said lowly. "Yes. Yes. Go on." Rod said. "Well, he's my boss now," I said begrudgingly. "What!?" Tae and Arnell both yelled. "He's cousins with my boss who made him COO of his company," I explained. "Well so much for avoiding him," Tae suggested. I shook my head. "But wait there's more. Not only is he the COO but he also gets to choose an assistant and guess who he chose?" I said tilting my head. "Bitch I know you lying," Arnell said. "Nope the only good thing about all of this is that I get a huge raise by huge I mean huge," I said with a sigh. I let them talk to each other as I thought about everything.
