I woke up early the next morning and quietly headed downstairs to see more gifts had appeared under the tree. I pulled some of the gifts out spreading them out a bit before I went and added a few gifts of my own. I walked into the kitchen and made some coffee before heading back upstairs to see Angelo walking out of the bathroom. "Everything ready?" Angelo asked reaching for my cup. I nodded my head with a soft smile.

"Merry Christmas," I said as I climbed back into bed. He smiled before walking over and flopping down on me causing me to laugh. "Now you know you are too heavy to just be falling on me like that," I said. "I thought I was your baby?" He asked. "Affectionately yes, but literally no," I said. "So, what I'm hearing is you don't love me anymore and you hate me. And on Christmas, too." He said. I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck hugging him close. "So dramatic," I whined. "I learned from the best." He said kissing my cheek.

"As much as I would love to lay here, I want to give you one of your gifts now." He said. "Now it's so early?" I countered. "Yes, now," he said holding me in his arms as he stood. He carried me out of the room. We headed down the hall to our private room. He put me down before covering my eyes and leading me in. "I have another gift for you, but I wanted to show you this one privately. I am a bit rusty so please don't judge them too harshly, okay." He whispered softly.

"I will love whatever you have to show me," I explained. He dropped his hand and I looked to see three new paintings hanging on the wall. I could feel Angelo staring at me waiting for a reaction. "You hate them?" he asked. I don't know what was wrong with me, but my eyes started to tear up. "Talk to me, love." He said softly. I shook my head. "You haven't drawn for me in years," I said turning to him.

"Well, it's kind of our thing

"Well, it's kind of our thing. You get me a photo album with drawings of my mom, and I draw pictures of you to show off beautiful you are to me." He said before pulling me into his arms. "They're beautiful I said walking over lightly touching each one. "I feel pretty." I joked. "Good then I did a good job." He said. I laughed softly. "Do you want your gift now, then?" I asked. "You don't—," "I'm asking because the gift is personal, and I know how you are about crying and there is a possibility," I added.

"Why do your gifts always involve me crying?" he asked. I laughed. "Because I'm sentimental and I didn't say you would cry it's just a high possibility." I countered before shaking my head. "I'll just give it to you now," I said leading him back to our room. "Sit, sit," I said. "Please?" he said looking at me. "Please?" I asked.

He sat while I dug around in my drawer. "Damn I knew I should've checked your underwear drawer," Angelo said. "Ha jokes on you I moved it somewhere new every day," I said as I turned to him. "You hurt me deeply," He said falling back dramatically on the bed. I walked over straddling him. He sat up seeing the small necklace box in my hand. He looked at it. "Oh my god, are you going to propose?" He asked making me laugh.

"This is so unexpected." He gushed. "So, is that a yes then?" I asked playing along. "Yes, a thousand times yes." He said in a high-pitched voice before we both broke out into laughter. "Okay now open it," I said. He took the box and slowly opened it. He stared down at it for a while. The front of the necklace said, 'I'm always with you while on the back an E.L.R. engraved on it.' "I realized that you got me and the kids each a piece of jewelry with Eva's initial on it. I know I'm late, but I hope you like it." I said.
