Fifty

Maja

For the past three days, I had been sleeping at Angelo's place. Angelo would come home we'd have dinner together. He'd shower then we lay in bed talking about our day, although I didn't have much to talk about he acted excited nonetheless.

I was leaning against the headboard as Angelo laid next to me with his arm draped around me. I lightly played with his hair as I looked down at him. "Why are you awake?" He mumbled scooting closer to me. "I've been waking up at this time for weeks. I don't know why but I do." I said. "But I'm glad you been getting some sleep. You looked exhausted." I said. "I only sleep when you're here." He said as I looked down at him. "Why didn't you just come over. You know I love the company." I said.

He glanced up at me before he sighed. "So, what have you been up today?" He asked. "I went to the doctor, so they could check my incisions. Then I had physical therapy. Nothing major." I chose to skip over going to Nadia's doctor checkup. "What'd the doctor say?" He asked. "I'm healing nicely, and I just need to keep taking it easy," I said as he rubbed my stomach. "Oh, did I tell you that Dimitri wants me to meet his girlfriend," I said. Angelo glanced up at me. "They must be getting serious, then?" He asked.

"They've been together for a year or so and he's ready to introduce her to me and later on Sami," I said changing the channel. "I just hope she doesn't come at me being extra especially now since I can't lay hands on anyone," I said pouting. He chuckled. "You don't need to be fighting anyway." He said. "And I don't plan to, but you know how women can be when it comes to their boyfriends and their baby mama's," I said. "Yes, having been with you I understand." He said. "Shut up. I'm a dream." I said smiling down at him as he looked at me.

"Yeah...okay." He said as he got up and walked to the bathroom. I was typing away on my phone when I heard the door open. I looked up seeing him standing in the doorway shirtless with his hair hanging. "When are you all supposed to meet?" He asked walking into the closet and coming out with a dark wooden box. I watched as he opened it pulling out a blunt. He lit it before he said something else, but I was so enthralled as I looked at him. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Baby, did you hear what I said?" He asked. "Saturday," I mumbled as this wave came over me. "What's wrong?" He asked coming and taking a seat on the bed. I opened my mouth to speak but I froze taking the blunt from him. I took a huge puff before he kissed me as I released the smoke into his mouth. I watched as he let the smoke ease through his nose. I pulled him for another kiss before he looked at me smiling. He kissed both sides of my cheeks repeatedly before he pulled me into a kiss. Everything started to get intense, but I couldn't. "Stop," I said breathlessly.

Angelo

I looked at Maja seeing lust swirl in her eyes. "I..." She paused. "It's okay," I said. "We don't have to," I said looking at her. "I'm sorry." She whispered. "Don't be. When you're ready I'll fu..." She covered my mouth as she rolled her eyes. I smiled laughing.

I was in the kitchen drinking some water when my phone rang. I looked to see it was Omar. "What's up?" I asked. "You trying to grab some food?" He asked. Maja was in the back with her sisters and I didn't want to just leave. "Hold on," I said. After my blow up the other day, I hadn't talked to Nadia or J.J. When either of them came to see Maja, I left so I wouldn't kill the mood or anything.

I knocked on the door hearing Maja yell come in. The three of them looked at me but my attention was on Maja. "I'm about to go meet up with Omar. You going to be okay?" He asked. "Yeah go have fun." She said. I walked over to her and kissed her forehead before heading to the bathroom. I was cleaning myself up when Maja came in with the help of her crutches. "What's up?" I said looking at her. "I can't just want to bother you before you leave?" She asked.

I chuckled. She watched me intently. "Please try to have fun tonight." She said. I just looked at her through the mirror. "Angelo you need to get out of your head and have fun. Especially after the month we've had." She said. "I'll try, okay," I said before my phone rang. "Nigga where the fuck are you?" Omar said. "Hi, Omar." Maja sang. "Maja is that you?" He asked. "Who else would it be?" I asked. "HI MAJA!!!" Omar yelled making us laugh. "I'm heading outside now," I said. "Hurry up cause I'm hungry." He said before hanging up.

"Alright go, go. Have fun." She said as I wrapped my arms around her. "But not too much fun." I chuckled pressing my forehead against hers. "I'll be good. I'll try to be back before your sisters leave." I told her. "Angelo just go enjoy yourself I'll be fine." She smiled. I nodded my head.

Omar and I pulled up to a bar and grill before we went inside, and I followed him to the table only to see Reggie, Rocky, Haseem, and J.J. I paused and looked at Omar. "What a surprise to see you all here," Omar said as he sat down. I looked at him and rolled my eyes. I sat down and looked over the menu. "Can I get you all started with some drinks or an appetizer?" the waitress asked. We each order our drinks and we went ahead and ordered our food.

We sat quietly as we waited for our drinks. It was quiet until Omar started talking. "So, I want to ask Toya (I changed his girlfriend's name) to move in with me." He said. "That's a big step," Reggie said. "I know but I'm ready. I just don't know how to go about it." He said. "Shit none of us do. The only person who might be close enough to help you would probably be Angelo." I looked up from my phone when I heard my name. "What?" I asked as they all looked at me.

"If you were going to ask Maja to move in with you how would you ask her?" Omar asked. "I was going to cook her dinner then after we showered we would go lay down and from there I would ask her to move in with me," I said. "Why didn't you?" Rocky asked. "The week I planned to Maja was in the hospital," I said. We fell quiet for a while until our food was brought out. "So, are we going to talk about what happened at the girl's place?" Haseem asked.

J.J. had been quiet the entire time before he finally decided to speak. "Angelo we've been best friends since we were 11." He paused. "We didn't mean for our news to hurt you in any way. We really just wanted to tell our family and that's you all." He said. "I understand that," I said with a sigh. "I know you and Nadia wouldn't do something like that but that hurt is still fresh. I know I shouldn't have snapped like that but according to Maja I haven't been dealing with my feelings and they came out that night." I said.

"And it's hard to be around you two and I don't want to be the one to rain this special time, so I just remove myself." I shrugged. "Damn that's very mature," Rocky said. "He's growing up," Haseem said. "Is there any way that you can still be around without it being awkward?" J.J. asked. "Over time we can but right now I can't," I said truthfully. "Well, we're always here." I nodded my head.

Maja

I had just got off the phone with Sami and I was curled up in one of Angelo's shirt slowly drifting off. I felt the bed dip before a pair of arms wrapped around me. Just based off of the smell I knew it was Angelo. He kissed my neck before he got comfortable. "How was your night?" I asked. "Well, all the guys were there." He said. "What?" I asked. "Reggie, Rocky, J.J., Haseem all of them were there. They wanted to talk about my blow up the other day." He explained everything that happened, and I was happy that he was able to sit down and talk things out. "I'm very proud of you," I said. "Thank you." He said pulling me closer. "Move in with me." He mumbled. My eyes opened before I turned to look at him. "What?" I asked shocked. "Move in with me. Most of your things are already here and there's a room for Sami. I love having you here so move in with me." He said again. I looked at his half sleep face smiling. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Of course." He said cracking a boyish smile. "Okay," I said. His eyes opened wider as a huge smile spread across his face. He leaned down and kissed me passionately. He kissed my cheek before he rested his head against mine before he dozed off.
