Maja

Here I was at 3:38 am wide awake barely having slept 4 hours. Angelo moved slightly pulling me closer to him as if that were even possible. I turned in his arms facing him, and I couldn't help but smile as he pushed his face into my neck releasing a sigh. I pushed his hair out of his face caressing his cheek thinking about how far we've come. I mean if anyone would have told 18-year-old or even 21 years me that I would be engaged and pregnant to a guy like Angelo I'd think they were crazy. I sighed gently climbing out of bed making sure not to wake Gelo. I went and checked on Sami and Dem before finding myself in the kitchen with a spoon and ice cream.

"What are you doing up?" I turned to see Dimitri standing there. "Couldn't sleep." Was all I said. "Well, you've had a very eventful day." He said grabbing a spoon and joining me for ice cream. We sat in silence before he said, "So you're pregnant?" He said. I looked at him. "Yeah, I am," I said being cautious. "It's okay Maja. I'm happy for you, really." He said with a smile. "Can I be honest with you?" I asked. "Of course, always." He said. "I really want this baby, I do." I paused. "But I'm so scared all the time and I can't tell Angelo this. He just found out and I don't want to worry him. He deserves to be happy." I said. "Maja you deserve to be happy too. Everything you've gone through." He paused eating his scoop of ice cream. "You've earned the right to enjoy this pregnancy, this baby, and your fiancé. I know you always feel like you need to protect everyone which is why so many people love you, but you earned the right to be selfish and worry about your happiness.

I looked at Dimitri speechless." I-I don't know what to say." I said. "That was probably the best advice you've given me like ever." I continued. He chuckled. "I just know everything you've gone through and I want to do everything I can help you the way you've continued to help me." He said. "Aww Di," I said as my eyes watered. "Here you go. Please don't start crying." He said with a playful sigh. "Oh hush, it's the hormones," I said wiping my face. "Mhm sure, it is." He said as he stood cleaning his spoon.

"Angelo you talk to the guys and I'll talk to my sisters and Tae," I said as I got ready for the day. "Okay, that's fine." He said as he got closer and closer to me. "Gelo?" I said as I looked in the mirror seeing him stand in the doorway. "What?" I asked. "I don't want you working." He said. I turned and looked at him. "What?" I asked needing clarification as I did my makeup. "I lost Eva, I almost lost you. Sami and Dem would have lost. Your mom, sisters, Tae all of us. We could have lost you. I'm not taking any chances this time. I just think you should take this pregnancy as easy as possible." He said. I stared up at him seeing how serious he was. "Maja I'm not kidding. I can't go through that again. I won't make it." He said as his voice and head dropped.

My face softened. "Baby?" I said as I stood cupping his face. He snaked his arms around my waist closing his eyes. "I'll take it easy, okay, but you can't expect me to stay in this house for another 8 months," I said looking at him. He looked at me debating the idea. "Angelo!" I snapped before he cracked a smile. "Okay let's negotiate then." He said. "Okay I'll work part-time, and I won't drive," I said. "How about you work 2 half a days and no driving." He suggested. "Gelo?" I sighed pinching my nose. "What?" He asked. "3 days?" I countered. "3 half a days, no driving, or going anywhere by yourself." He said. "I don't like it but if it makes you feel better, I guess I can deal with that," I said going back to my makeup. "Oh, and you can't come back to work until I know for sure that you are completely healthy." I turned back around looked at him. "Angelo, come on?" I whined.

"Well, you could just go with my first suggestion and not work for the duration of the pregnancy." He said. I stood walking into the bathroom to get some better light. "I swear it's like you're the pregnant one!" I yelled hearing him laugh. "I love you too, baby." He said poking his head back in. I rolled my eyes.
