Chapter Fifty Four

[Adi]

I covered my mouth with two of my hands when my twinny came home with a white rose with her... and it's from Kenji!

Oh myyy! That's a huge step from Kenji!

"Adi," my twin approached me. Her face is red.

"Yes?"

"You think... he likes me?" She asked.

"Ano ka ba naman?! He gave you a rose on Valentines! Of course he does!" Sabi ko.

"But what I know is... red rose represents romantic feelings. He gave me a white rose. I am confused," she said.

"Well, let me ask this first. Are you happy sa surprise niya sa'yo at sa rose na iyan?"

"Very much. But... but... since I have romantic feelings for him, I can't stop overthinking things. He gave me a rose, but it's white. Iniisip ko na baka importante lang ako sa kaniya, pero hindi niya ako romantically gusto," she said. Clearly confused.

I smiled. "Tara, maupo muna tayo." Tapos inaya ko siya sa sofa at naupo. She sat with me naman, still holding the rose.

"Red rose represents romantic love, indeed. Usually, a couple would give it to each other as a sign of mutual romantic love. But ang sinasabi mo naman na baka importante ka lang, well.. dapat orange rose ang binigay niya sa'yo. Orange rose means platonic friendship."

"Then, what does white rose mean?"

I gave her a soft smile, "white roses mean honesty and pure intentions. Kaya nga sa kasal, isang bouquet ng white rose ang dala ng bride, dahil it represents eternal purity. Sa state ninyo na iyan, I do think he's telling you that he has no intentions of harming you and all of his intentions sa'yo are pure." 

She blinked her eyes at me, looked at the rose and looked at me again.

"It's not... platonic?" She asked.

"It's not," nakangiting sabi ko.

Napayuko siya, "I... I really hope so! Kasi... everyday... I just can't stop myself from falling for him more and more. My feelings are sometimes so powerful that they scare me!"

"Calm down, sis. Take your time. Let's first figure out things. You still don't want to tell him, right? But you want to give him signs."

"Y...yes. Kinakapa ko pa kasi ang situation bago ako magconfess. Ayaw kong...  mawala si Kenji."

"Focus muna tayo doon, Marie. Don't worry, kasi I do think things will work out."

She nodded, "thank you for being always beside me."

I hugged her.

What I think is, this white rose is better than any other red rose na pwedeng ibigay ni Kenji kay Marie. I know he loves her, but his pure intentions for her are the best things he can give kay Marie.

What a nice man you are, Kenji.

I hope... you get ready to face your feelings soon.

Naglalakad ako ngayon papuntang faculty. Kaka-in ko lang sa timer and medyo nagmamadali ako kasi baka ma-late ako sa una kong klase.
