Chapter Sixty Seven

[Adi]

My sister's eyes widened upon seeing the paper bag being handed by Seth. She's pretty shocked.

"Kenji? You went to him?" Gulat pa rin niyang tanong after taking the paper bag.

"Pasalamat ka sa kambal mo. Pinakiusapan niya ako bago ako umalis ng Pilipinas," Seth replied.

Marie looked at me and I can see the full view of her eyes getting wet.

"Adi, Tha--"

"Hun, it's okay."

She couldn't reply.

"I'll handle your visitors. Go open the bag sa kwarto mo," I said smilingly.

"Okay!" Napangiti si Marie and she excused herself sa amin.

"I really thought na dadalin mo si Kenji dito mismo," I said to Seth jokingly.

"Adi, hindi tayo character sa Wattpad na pwedeng magtangay ng isang lalakeng walang passport at papeles mula sa Pilipinas papunta sa US ng sobrang bilis," masungit niyang sagot.

"Joke lang eh!" Angil ko.

"That guy, Kenji. He seemed to be really serious about your sibling. I can see it the way he reacted when I mentioned your twin's name," Seth.

"Oh 'di ba! I ship them very much!" Kinikilig kong sabi.

Umikot ang mga mata niya. Hahaha. My darling is so cute.

"Hey, remember me?" Nakita kong tanong ni Brighton kay Seth.

"No," Seth replied. I do think he remembers him, he just doesn't wanna talk to him. Hahaha!

"I told you he's a snob!" Brighton told everyone.

We all laugh except Seth.

[Marie]

Ang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko habang tumatakbo papunta sa kwarto ko. Pagkabukas ko ay agad kong sinara ang pinto.

This feeling is so... overwhelming. I mean, I have something Kenji gave me. It's been weeks since I last saw him.

Dahan dahan kong binuksan 'yung paper bag and what I first saw is a green cloth. Pagangat ko noon ay nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang makita ko ang isang bagong varisity jacket. Nasa likod nito ang label na 'Manager' at may initials ng pangalan ko sa gilid. 

Napaluha ako while looking at it. Inakap ko 'yung jacket and I immediately smelled Kenji's scent on it.

No, I don't think he used his perfume sa jacket ko.

But I do think that he hugged this jacket before he handed this over to Seth.

I miss him.

Then, tumingin pa ako ulit sa paperbag amd there's a folded paper in there. Halatang pinunit lang ito from the log book we use sa team. On it is Kenji's handwriting. It's so weird. Ang ganda talaga ng handwriting niya. 

"Nadeliver na iyong varisity jacket mo. Kasya ba sa'yo? Sabihin mo sa akin ah? Take care always, Marie.
