This story begins with Max on the roof of him and Sam's building, collecting pigeon feathers to re-stuff his pillow. It was getting a bit flat (probably due to him chewing on it every night in his sleep). Unfortunately, he goes too close to the edge, and, trying to catch a pigeon, accidentally jumps and falls off. He lands flat on the pavement, knocking himself clean out.

When he comes to, his head feels fuzzy and his vision is weird, like someone smeared Vaseline on his eyeballs. "Oh boy, that was fun!" He looks around. Everything was the same, just with his wonky vision. "Man, I must be dreaming! Either that or drunk, but I didn't have any whiskey before this, so I must still be unconscious!"

He starts walking, "Well, since I'm dreaming, I might as well get a kiss or two from Sam before I wake up to the tragic reality of our relationship remaining forever platonic!" he thought. He smiles and goes up the concrete stairs and into the building.

He opens the door to the office and looks around for Sam, and sure enough, there he was on the couch. "Oh max! There you are!" Max smiles. "Hey, how ya doin?" Sam smiles back. "I'm doing pretty well, i got all the paperwork done and I've been watching tv all afternoon." max steps closer. "That's nice." Sam scoots over and Max sits beside him. "How've you been?" Sam asks. "I've been doing pretty well, although I've been kinda lonely lately..." he leans on Sam's shoulder, making him blush. "M-max?" lax looks up at him with half lidded eyes. "Yes~?" Sam blushes more. "What are you doing?" Max giggles. "Just admiring my handsome partner." Sam's eyes get wide. "Y-you think I'm h-handsome?" max giggles. "Handsomest man on the planet." Sam glances away nervously. "W-well I think you're pretty handsome too..." Max kisses his cheek. "I know..." Sam goes red. "A-am I dreaming right now?" max giggles. "No silly, I am." Sam looks at him, confused and flushed. Max doesn't say another word, just leans forward and kisses him softly on the lips. Sam stays still, but then melts into it, holding max gently by the waist. The two remain caught in the lip-lock for a little while before Max pulls back, saliva still connecting their lower lips. They look into each other's eyes lovingly. "This is the best dream I've ever had..." Sam pats his head. "Max, do you think that you're dreaming?" Max giggles, nuzzling him. "Yeah... although I'm probably gonna wake up soon..." Sam laughs. "Max, you're already awake!"

And just like that, Max's vision began to clear, and everything stayed the same.

"W-wait... i... I wasn't dreaming?" Sam giggles. "Not unless your dream became reality." Max feels woozy. "Oh Sam... I need to lie down..." Sam nods and helps Max to lie down on the couch, where he closes his eyes and falls asleep. Sam kisses his head gently.

A few hours later, Max wakes up to find Sam still sitting by him. He pinches the skin on the back of his hand, and it hurts. "Nope, I'm not dreaming anymore." Sam helps him sit up and holds his arm gently. "Listen Max, I know things might be kinda confusing right now." Max nods, then goes red. "I uh... wasn't dreaming when I kissed you and called you handsome, was i?" Sam laughs and shakes his head. Max moves to hang his legs off the edge of the couch. "Well that makes things awkward..." Sam giggles, putting an arm around him. "Not necessarily." Max smiles a bit, leaning on him. "Hehe."
