It was another lonesome night in his office. Sam lived on his own, worked on his own, and was in general just a lonely guy. All his life he never really had any long term friends. Different people came and went, but it always ended up with him lonely like he was right now.

One day, he decided to place an ad in the local paper, looking for a detective partner. Many people of different shapes and sizes applied, but none turned out to be the right fit for him. He was getting closer to just accepting the fact he was meant to be alone, until one day...

Sam was walking home after a successful case, when he spotted a flier for a robotics company. "Tired of paying for human labor? Have you ever wanted your very own robot butler/housemaid/servant? The future is now at Techno-works robotics company! We take commissions! Call *insert numbers here* today!" Sam smiled. If he couldn't find the perfect partner, maybe he could have the perfect one built! He takes the flier and goes back to his office.

He calls them up on the phone and waits for the answer. "Techno-works, robotic company, how can we assist you?" a female voice said. Sam smiled. "Hey there! Yeah, I saw the 'future is now' flier and I wanted to contact you about getting one?" the voice said, "yes, of course. Would you like to schedule a meeting with our designers?" Sam nodded. "Sure! What times are available?" there was a sound of papers shuffling. "We have an opening tomorrow afternoon." Sam smiled. "How convenient! I'll be there!" the voice replied. "Wonderful! We look forward to seeing you."

The following afternoon, Sam drove to the company, which was quite a while away. He parked and walked in, then went to the receptionist's desk. "Hey there, I have a designer meeting scheduled for Sam Parker at 1:00?" The receptionist looked at her schedule, then nodded. "Yes sir, please have a seat and one of our designers will be with you soon." He did.

After a few minutes, one of the designers called for him, and he sat down with her in her office. "Okay Mr Parker, what kind of robot are you looking for? Butler? Maid?" she asked. "Detective partner." Sam answered. The designer nodded. "Sure. male or female?" Sam laughed. "It's a robot." the designer rolled her eyes. "I'm talking about the voice. Unless you want a silent one." Sam blushed a little. "O-oh. then male." she nodded and marked it. She kept asking questions and Sam kept answering. The end result was a 3 foot tall rabbit like- creature with sharp teeth. The designer looked at Sam, "are you sure you want the teeth in there?" Sam nodded. " I think they make him look cute!" the designer nodded. "Okay, it's your robot."

She then photocopied the sketch into the computer database then gave it to Sam to keep. Sam paid her for the order and she smiled. "Alright. The bot should be ready in 2-3 days and we'll call you when it's time to come pick it up!" Sam smiled. "I can't wait! Thanks so much!" she smiled. "No, thank you for choosing techno-works!"

Over the next two days, Countless hours were poured into making the thing, programming, welding, screws, nuts, bolts, the whole shebang.
The ending result was a robot just like the one that Sam wanted, 3 feet tall with rabbit-like qualities, large feet, long ears, led eyes, button nose, cute little tail, and of course the sharp metal chompers and retractable metal claws.
With approval from the head of the project, and a flick of the switch, electricity was pumped into the robot, which opened its yellow, glowing eyes.

The rab-bot was alive.

The robot stood silently. It didn't know where it was or what it was doing, but just one thing was clear.

Sam.

It could clearly picture that dog in it's head, and its purpose was to get to sam.

It heard some mumbling and looked around. A few scientists were clapping, since the experiment was a success. One scientist looks at the robot. "What is your name?"
