Stress was piling up on max like an avalanche of fake towel displays on an unsuspecting bed bath and beyond worker after a shelf broke.

He had just got done with a hellish exam and slammed his dorm door, flopped face first down on his bed. His roommate looked at him. "Rough day?" Max groaned into his mattress as a reply. "I feel ya.." his roommate said. "The test was taxing on all of us." Max turns his head. "Ya think?" his roommate nodded. "Maybe you should go home for the weekend." Max sits up. "I can't..." his roommate looked confused. "Why not?" Max sighs. "My parents are probably busy with my new little siblings, I wouldn't wanna give them any more stress..." max answers. His roommate tilts their head. "Wait, they had more kids?" Max looks at him slowly. "They're rabbits, what do you expect?" his roommate looks down. "Fair point..." Max sighs and falls down on the bed again. "God I wish Sam were here..." he says quietly.

"Who's Sam?" his roommate asks. Max looks at them. "My boyfriend who lives all the way on the other side of the city..." his roommate smiles. "Why don't you go see him? I'm sure he wouldn't mind..'' Max thinks. "Hmmm... yeah!" Max giggled. "And if he does mind, he won't for long." Max said as he got up to start packing.

After Max packed everything he would need for a weekend trip, he said goodbye to his roommate and started off.

As he walked along the city streets to the subway station, he looked up at the stars. There were so many on a night like this... he might enjoy it if there wasn't so much noise...

He walked to the subway station and went down the steps, getting on the train and riding it to the other side of the city.

He thought of Sam all the way.

Finally, he arrived at Sam's apartment building, going in and up the elevator to the 18th floor, room 1804. He takes a deep breath, knocking on the door, then waiting.

After a minute or two, the door opens, and Sam peeks out. "Max?" max waves shyly. Sam opens the door all the way. "What are you doing here?" Max says nothing, just hugs him. Sam takes Max in his arms, picking him up. "Buddy?" Max buries his face in Sam's shoulder, nuzzling him.

"Things are... complicated.. With school..." he mumbles. Sam nods, understanding. "Judging by the fact you brought your bags, I'm guessing you're gonna want to stay here?" Max pulls back, looking at him with pleading eyes. "Please..?" Sam smiles, kissing his head. "Sure, doll. For how long?" he says, carrying Max and his bags in. "oh thank you Sammy!" Max says, kissing his cheek. "Just until Sunday." Sam smiles. "I think that'll be fine." He gets a blanket from the closet and bundles max up in it like a burrito, then sets him on the couch. "How about you pick out something to watch, and I'll heat up some dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and bagel bites?" Max nods. "Yay!" Sam smiled and walked off to go do that.

While Sam was busy making food, Max grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels until he found one that played horror movies. "Oooh! Machine gun dismemberment corpse factory 3 is on, Sam! Hurry!" he bounced excitedly. "I'm comin, be patient!" Sam giggles as he walks back with the plates, putting them on the table and sitting next to Max, putting an arm around him gently and pulling him into his side. Max giggles and starts to eat as the movie begins.

An hour and a half or so later, the credits rolled and the snacks were eaten. "Man Sam, that movie never gets old!" Max says happily. Sam smiles. "Glad you're feeling better..." he kisses his head. Max giggles and blushes. "I always feel better when I'm with you..." Max smiles gently.

"Aww..." Sam nuzzles his head. Max smiles and yawns, stretching his arms. Sam giggles. "You tired, pal?" Max nods. Sam smiles and gently picks him up, Max already dozing off on him.

Max snuggled into Sam's chest as he took him to the bed and lay down with him, falling asleep as well. The two long lost lovers, now reunited at last.
