Imprinting? Imprinting? How could she have not known this entire time that she had imprinted to Stiles?
"Are you going to say something?"
Zelda just stared at her friends who had her cornered in the vet clinic as though they were all insane, "What do you want me to say?"
"I don't know." Sierra threw her arms up in the air, she looked tired and exasperated. She didn't feel like it was fair how tired she was, "Maybe that we're wrong or a confirmation that you did imprint to Stiles."
"I'd like to see Stiles."
Briella exhaled deeply, "When I mentioned the imprinting a long time ago. When Peter told me that Derek imprinted on me. I said it had something to do with my scent, but not my shampoo and stuff like that. My actual scent as a person, the kind of hormones I give off or some weird bullshit like that. Have you ever been in that position but with Stiles."
Zelda opened her mouth to tell them no but immediately shut it. "Well... uh... You guys said it was weird that Derek liked your scent so I didn't say anything about liking Stiles'... Then I kind of forgot about it."
"You didn't register that the two may correlate at all?"
"I'm dumb, Briella!"
"No, you're not."
"Then-" Zelda choked on her words, "-shut up. Can we go now?"
Deaton nodded his head but as Briella and Marnie took Zelda out to the car, he stopped Sierra before she could go, "Keep a close eye on Zelda."
Sierra sent him a look of confusion, "Why? Imprinting is harmless, right? I mean, Stiles and Zelda are dating so there's no rejection there."
"It's not the imprinting itself that I am worried about, it's the side effects." Deaton explained to her in an almost hushed whisper, "Stiles is going through such immense pain and sleepwalking that Zelda is experiencing the side effects that come with imprinting."
"Then maybe I should be watching Stiles and not Zelda."
"Anything that Zelda is going through mimics what Stiles is going through but minimally."
Sierra sighed deeply, "I didn't think training as a druid would have me keep an eye on stuff like this."
"You're not just training to be a druid, Sierra." Deaton put his hand on her shoulder and gave her a soft squeeze, "You're training to be the pack's emissary. To be Scott's advisor-"
"And a supernatural doctor whenever my friends get punched around?"
"You'll grow used to it."
Sierra's nervous laugh made Deaton smile, "I don't think that's a thing I should be used to."
Briella poked her head in, "Hey, we should get going. Zelda's getting pretty antsy about Stiles being in the hospital."
