At the hospital, Ronald and Zelda waited for Briella to show up but it looked like Derek and Scott had beat her there. Zelda hopped up from her seat and ran over to Scott, pulling him in for a hug as he returned it.
"How's mom?"
"She's got some bruising, nothing too bad." Zelda answers him, "But um..."
"Derek filled me in." Scott answers while looking over at Ronald, "Three others have come through the Nemeton?"
"Yeah-" Ronald got up from his seat as well, "The doctors are checking them up. I called Deaton since he helped us last time, but now we also have the Sheriff to back us up. They're going to try and get their paperwork done and stuff. But that also means they're going to be considered orphans as well. Well, Sandy's considered an adult so we don't really know what's going to happen."
Zelda breathed out softly and then glanced over at Derek, "But uh..."
Ronald realized what she was about to say before he ran back to his seat. He came over with a backpack and pulled a teddy bear out. Which only made Scott overly confused until he-
"Is that Briella's?" Derek questioned as he recognized the strong scent coming off of it. It was surrounded by her scent. "Where did you get that?"
"Sandy-" Zelda explained but cut herself off, "Sandy Rogers, she-she's..."
"A friend of ours." Ronald explains as he wondered how everything was going to go down between Briella and Sandy, "And yes, this is Briella's."
Scott furrowed his brows together as Stiles walked over to them, "Does this... have any significance?"
"Sandy stole it..."
"From Briella?"
"From her room." Ronald states watching as they looked like they wanted more information or if this teddy bear was important at all.
So Stiles just sighed, "Briella's dad died."
"What?"
"Her real dad." Zelda mumbles while grabbing the bear out of Ronald's hands, "Uh... In our... universe or whatever... He had a heart attack shortly after she was declared presumed dead since they couldn't find evidence after our disappearance."
"We're waiting for Briella but... but we don't know how we're going to tell her that she's lost her dad-"
"You're not going to." Derek interrupts them which causes the two friends to furrow their brows, "Look what she's gone through. She shouldn't have to handle this right now. We wait to tell her."
"But-"
"No..." Ronald stops Zelda from arguing, "I think Derek is right."
"Ronald!"
"She needs... she needs to be better because she won't be able to handle this." Ronald tries to stop himself from being upset as well because he genuinely liked Briella's father. "When... When she was trapped in the bathroom at that motel..."
