Briella sat on the actual table with her legs crossed while on her phone. Isaac was eyeing her a little bit since he kind of knew why she was constantly checking her phone now. Briella leaned down a bit so her elbow was on her knee and her head was in her hand. She ran a hand down her face before her phone buzzed from an unknown number.
"Okay-" Scott starts while looking around at the group, realizing how squished in they all were on the bench and Briella was sitting on the table, "So what happens to a person who has a near-death experience and comes out of it seeing things?"
"And is unable to tell what's real or not?"
"And is being haunted by demonic visions of dead relatives?"
Sandy blinked her eyes a few times before chiming in as a joke, "They're all locked up because they're insane."
Briella set her phone down on her legs and sent her a glare, "Very funny, can you at least try to be helpful?"
Sandy released a long breath before nodding her head, "Okay."
"Okay-" Stiles interrupted the two of them, eyeing them funny, "Am I missing something here? I thought we were having problems but you two seem to be tense."
"They don't know?" Sandy shot a shocked look at Briella.
"Did they need to know?"
"Well-" Lydia hums while looking between them, "Now I want to know."
"Hi." Kira suddenly says, making everyone look over at her. Her smile faltered a little bit, "Hi, sorry. I couldn't help overhearing what you guys were talking about. And I think I actually might know what you're talking about. There's a Tibetan word for it. It's called Bardo. It literally means in-between state. The state between life and death."
Briella sent her a bright smile, "Guys, this is-"
"Kira." Scott finishes, which makes everyone look over at him, "She's in our History class."
"Sit with us..." Briella tries to suggest but notices the lack of room at the table, "I mean... You can sit on the table like me..."
"It's fine." Kira laughs while standing at the end of the table, "I can stand. I-uh-I did interject."
Lydia pursed her lips before interrupting, "So are you talking Bardo in Tibetan Buddhism or Indian?"
"Either, I guess." Kira offers a little nervously but notices how Briella was smiling, and how Scott was almost smiling up at her, "But all the stuff you guys were saying? All that happens in Bardo. There are different progressive states where you can have hallucinations. Some you see, some you just hear. And you can be visited by peaceful and wrathful deities."
"Wrathful deities?" Zelda repeats slowly while letting what she was explaining wrap around her mind, "And what are those?"
"Like demons."
