Zelda sat inside her room, reading whatever book that Briella got for her with the Whittemore's money. Which turned out to be some romance novel, which only made Zelda ship Briella and Derek more. I mean, the fact that she gave her a novel where the bad guy falls for the good girl just makes Zelda want it to unfold before her eyes. Or she simply wanted to be able to witness something like that happen in real life since it wasn't something she ever saw. Granted, werewolves weren't exactly a thing where she was from so maybe her expectations were just too high. Plus, enemies to lovers was definitely her favorite trope and that could definitely had been the reason for Briella to get her this book.

"Zelda-" Scott whispers, mainly trying to get her attention and not Ronald's.

She turned her head, wondering where his voice came from but figured he was outside somewhere. Zelda set the book down and walked out of the room, leaving Ronald to do his homework alone.

"Scott?"

"Hey, um..." Scott shifted where he stood, "So, I'm going to the Hale house to ask Derek some questions, and since... you're also a uh... werewolf. I figured."

"I should be there too?" Zelda nodded her head, peeking into the room. Ronald had his back towards the door so she silently snagged her shoes and took off with Scott. It ended up with the two of them just going on a walk.

"I know that you, Ronald, and Briella are orphans, but how long have you three known one another?"

"Oh, well, Ronald and Briella have known each other for about eleven years." Zelda admitted to him, almost forgetting that she was in a world where her family were nonexistent. "I've known Briella and Ronald for six years."

"Wow, you guys have been friends for a really long time." Scott stuffs his hands into his pockets as they trudged through the woods, "Did you... Did you guys lose your families at a young age?"

Zelda wasn't entirely sure how to answer that, "You could say that." Which wasn't a complete lie, she was technically still pretty young. Not an adult yet at least. "It's a little weird though, not seeing them."

"Do you miss them?"

"I do." Zelda admits to him, but shoots a soft smile his way, "But so far, I feel like I've created a new family."

"That's good."

Zelda halted at the sight of a police car speeding away from the house, she tilted her head to the side and stopped walking for a moment.

"I know you can hear me." Scott says, relatively calm. "I-We need your help."

"Please..." Zelda adds in.

Scott and Zelda look at each other at the same time before they both go walking towards the front door. Zelda stepped back when it swung open, revealing a neutrally scowling Derek on the other side. She winced a little when she remembered what they did to him.
