-Tower-

Roman glides through the woods on a white stead. From the corner of his Forest Green Eye, he notices something in the distance. He slows down and circles back, hearing the melodious singing of Virgil. Roman dismounts from his horse and slips through a brush to see an exquisite tower. It was surrounded by a thicket of tall roses but the tower had no entrance, just a lone window at its peak

Janus, Virgil's father, looks upward

<Janus>
Virgil, Virgil? Let down your hair to me

{Roman}
~hiding within the brush~
Virgil...

At the window, the beautiful boy, Virgil proceeds to lower the longest stretch of hair you've ever seen. Janus climbs the tower using Virgil's hair, which causes him some discomfort

The snake faced enchanter had given the name Virgil to the child he had hidden away and locked in a doorless tower. But little did he know that the boys voice had caught the attention of a handsome prince

{Roman}
Virgil...

After falling from the brush, Roman dashed back to his horse and gallops off as he kept savoring Virgil's name

Roman visited Virgil in his tower while Janus wasn't there. They immediately fell in love with each other. Janus was of course unaware of their meetings until he saw Roman climb out of the tower one day

Roman got onto his horse, he was about to jump over a rose bush but Janus used his magic to make the plants climb higher, the thorns prick Romans eyes, leaving him blind

Once Janus climbs the tower, he immediately interrogates Virgil

<Janus>
What did I clearly say? Children must listen

¥Virgil¥
No, no, please!

<Janus>
What were you not to do? Children must see -

¥Virgil¥
No!

<Janus>
And learn. Why could you not obey? Children should listen. What have I been to you? What would you have me be, handsome like a Prince? Ah, but I am old. I am ugly. I embarrass you

¥Virgil¥
No!

<Janus>
You are ashamed of me

¥Virgil¥
No!

<Janus>
You are ashamed. You don't understand

¥Virgil¥
I am no longer a child, I wish to see the world

<Janus>
Don't you know what's out there in the world? Someone has to shield you from the world. Stay with me. Princes wait there in the world, it's true. Princes, yes, but wolves and humans too. Stay at home, I am home. Who out there could love you more than I? Who out there that I cannot supply? Stay with me. Stay with me, the world is dark and wild. Stay a child while you can be a child. With me. I gave you protection and yet you disobeyed me

¥Virgil¥
No!

<Janus>
Your prince will never lay eyes on you again. He will never lay eyes on anything again!

¥Virgil¥
What did you do to him?

<Janus>
It doesn't matter because where you're going, no one will ever see you again!

Janus reveals a pair of scissors, he lunges at Virgil, chopping off his hair. Janus then banished his son to a swamp deep within in the dark wood

Roman, still blinded, used his horse as a guide while stumbling around the woods. A scrap of a scarf was around his eyes. He then hears a familiar singing voice

{Roman}
Virgil? Virgil?

Virgil sees Roman across from where he set up a small camp

¥Virgil¥
Ro!

He fearlessly jumps into the swamp, reaching land and reunites with Roman

{Roman}
Virgil? Is it you?

Virgil takes off the scarf around Romans eyes. He holds Romans head in his hands as The Prince blindly gets Virgil close to him

¥Virgil¥
How could he do this to you?

Virgil starts crying, a tear falls into Romans eyes, restoring his vision

{Roman}
~relived and very happy~
Virgil! I can see you!

Virgil immediately hugs Roman, who hugs back. The couple then find their way out of the swamp, they stop at a clearing near a flower field. Roman goes off to collect firewood for the night while Virgil tends to Romans horse

<Janus>
Virgil! You're safe! Thank goodness!

Virgil didn't recognize Janus, his snake face was now gone after a curse went undone

¥Virgil¥
Who are you?

<Janus>
Surely you remember

Virgil shakes his head no, Janus says the phrase to let down his hair

¥Virgil¥
Father?

<Janus>
This is who I truly am, my son. Now you don't have to be embarrassed by me. You must come with me, there's a Giant in the land

Janus moves towards Virgil, he runs off but catches up to Roman with the firewood

{Roman}
Princess, are you alright? Why did you run off?

¥Virgil¥
I was afraid

{Roman}
You never have to be afraid, now come with me

<Janus>
He's not going with you! You will come with me

Janus grabs Virgil's arm, pulling him away from Roman. Virgil manages to get himself out of Janus's grip

¥Virgil¥
I will not come with you!

<Janus>
Then you leave me with no choice

Janus gets Virgil's arm again, getting his son behind him. Using his free hand, Janus casts a spell onto Roman. There is nothing. Janus tried again, no success. Roman takes notice of Janus

{Roman}
You! You're the one who blinded me!

Virgil leaves Janus once again, going to Roman again

¥Virgil¥
And locked me in a tower!

<Janus>
~trying to convince Virgil~
To protect you

¥Virgil¥
And then banished me to a swamp!

<Janus>
I was just trying to be a good Father!

Virgil takes one final look at Janus, then turns to Roman

<Janus>
Virgil, no! You will never be safe with him

¥Virgil¥
Take me away from here

Roman nods, ignoring Janus's pleas for Virgil. He picks up Virgil, placing him onto the horse. Roman then gets on himself

<Janus>
No! Virgil!

¥Virgil¥
Don't you understand? I never want to see you again. Ever!

With that, Roman and Virgil ride off into the woods, leaving Janus alone
