On his 16th, Virgil was able to explore more territory in the castle. He found unknown corridors and passageways, eventually finding a tall tower. He knocked first, earning a come in from the inside. Virgil opened, seeing an elder spinning with a spinning wheel. He thought that his father, King Janus ordered to burn them all so that the curse doesn't happen

Elder
Come in my boy! Do you want to learn how to spin with a wheel like this?

¥Virgil¥
No thanks, I thought my father burned all of them. I should probably get going-

Elder
Nonsense! I insist that you take up spinning, I'm the best in the kingdom you know

¥Virgil¥
Like I said, I shouldn't be stay-

Elder
Wonderful my boy!

The Elder drags Virgil to the spinning wheel, forcibly sitting him down on the stool. The Elder guides Virgils hand to the spindle, saying that he needs to put the thread on it. Virgil reluctantly does what the Elder says, but pricks his finger and falls

The Elder laughs evilly, revealing themselves to be a Magician! They leave in a puff of smoke, luring King Janus to the tower in the process. King Janus gets very angry, threatning to push his servants down multiple flights of stairs. His husband, King Patton consoles him to let their son sleep until the prince shows up

The fairy who modified the Magician's curse flew to the castle, waving their wand so that everyone in the kingdom will join Virgil in his 6 years of sleep and will wake when he does. Overtime, the castle became concealed with rose bushes full of thorns. No one of royal status dared to break the curse, except for one Prince

Prince Roman and Virgil were childhood friends (and crushes) throughout their life. Unfortunately a few days before Virgil got pricked, Roman was sent out to fight in wars and battles. Now, after the wars were over, Roman got word of what happened to Virgil so he set out to break the curse

Mounting his horse, Roman rode off to Virgil's kingdom. He used his sword to cut the thorns when he reached the outskirts of the castle. He ignored tiny cuts from the thorns and kept moving, Roman then left his horse and searched for his childhood friend. He scaled the tower where Virgil was sleeping

Now at the top of the tower, Roman climbed inside through the window seeing Virgil asleep. Roman didn't know what to do, since kissing a corpse isn't logical and that Roman needs consent (unlike pretty much every Disney Prince in their respective movies)

Roman mentally repeated to himself that hopefully Virgil doesn't kill him, then kissed his childhood friend's forehead. Virgil's eyes didn't open so Roman thought that his forehead kiss didn't work. He was about to leave when Virgil started to wake up

Roman turned, seeing Virgil sit on the bed he was sleeping on. Roman walked over and sat next to his childhood friend

{Roman}
My forehead kiss worked? But typically the whole true love thing happens with a real kiss

¥Virgil¥
But luckily for you, this is a story written by an Author who recognizes that consent exists

Roman nods as Virgil moved more towards his childhood friend

¥Virgil¥
Where were you? I didn't get your letters?

{Roman}
Fighting. I got these bad boys while in war

Roman showed Virgil the myriad of scars running all over his hands

¥Virgil¥
Are you ok and everything?

{Roman}
Yep, I managed to avoid any major injuries so I'm fine

Virgil nods, inching his hand closer to Roman's hand. He scooted over more and began to trace over Romans scars, becoming mesmerized by the patterns and shapes they made

Roman smiled, wrapping an arm around Virgil's shoulder. Later on, the two confessed their long-standing crush on each other. As time went by, they got together, then engaged, and finally got married. Roman and Virgil combined their kingdoms through their union and took the throne after King Janus and King Patton's passing. The couple ruled for many prosperous years, being advised wisely by the fairies who later on blessed their child with gifts just as they did with Virgil

There was no evil Magician attending the blessing however. After finding out that Virgil was alive and that their curse got modified, the Magician got so angry and stomped very hard that their secluded fortress collapsed onto itself and crushed them

Roman and Virgil lived happily ever after
