Saturday June 28th, 1969. 1:00 am

That night, the Stonewall Inn was packed for partying. Drinks were flowing and most of the 205 patrons were dancing

The 2 bartenders were serving everyone a drink, even though Stonewall has no liquor license. People who wanted to be themselves were having a great time

However, one patron was on the lookout for his significant other. Graduated Senior and Now Former Captain of his High School Football team, Roman Rodriguez, was desperately searching for his secret boyfriend, sophomore Virgil Maro

After managing to find his way out of the literal and figurative sea of dancing patrons, Roman went into Stonewalls provided bathroom. He heard someone crying in a stall. Opening the stall's door revealed Virgil with tears coming down his face

Roman wiped away his boyfriends tears, beginning to apologize for making them both come tonight despite Virgil's anxiety over social events

Virgil, I'm so sorry for making us come tonight! I thought that we would have fun but your anxiety acted up which made us separate and everything

Ro, don't apologize. You wanted to do something nice and fun for us now that we're together, but don't let this ruin it. We can do what you originally wanted somewhere else

Saturday June 28th, 1969. 1:20 am

Roman nods, starting to hear the front door get busted and kicked open. Both the music and lights turned off. Outside of the bathroom, The Police arrived. Deputy Inspector Seymour Pine and Detective Charles Smythe stepped inside the Stonewall Inn

Back into the bathroom, other patrons went inside so they could climb out the window. Roman picked up Virgil bridal style and brought themselves to the window, Roman let Virgil climb out first then he followed after

They walked back to the front, seeing the police line and round up patrons so that they could do routinely identity checks. Virgil recognized his friend, transgender sophomore Patton Finch, and his math teacher Logan Grey in the identity line. Roman also saw his twin brother, dropout and slacker Remus Rodriguez

Going against protocol, the line of patrons refused to show the police their identity. Some officers went inside the bar to weed out any cross-dressers while other officers called backup for 2 wagons to pick up 28 cases of beer along with 19 bottles of hard liquor previously kept at the bar

During that time, bystanders grew in massive numbers. Roman and Virgil were shocked at the amount of people showing up to defend people like them. When the wagons came to pick up the liquor, the bystanders threw objects at it. Eventually, fights started and the police began to arrest the patrons. Roman and Virgil could hear a woman shout "Why Don't You Guys Do Something?" before getting forced into the wagon without the alcohol

The bystanders and patrons became a full on mob. It became violent quickly with the police trying to restrain the crowd. Roman and Virgil watched as 2 police cars and a wagon get their tires slashed along with some people running away despite still being in handcuffs. Bricks were thrown towards the police as the crowd shouted things at them

Eventually a bartender at Stonewall, Janus Windsor, used his cigarette to start a fire. He first stuffed garbage through previously broken windows during the fight, lighting the garbage with the end of his cigarette. He found his coworker and fellow bartender Nico Flores tagging along with patron Thomas Sanders, all three escaping through the bathroom window

Roman and Virgil started to run through the streets of Greenwich Village, fleeing the chaos. They eventually bumped into Virgil's ostracized Uncle Remy Picani, owner of The Duplex Bar across the street from the now burning Stonewall Inn

Virgil? What are you doing here? It's almost 4:00 am?

We need a place to stay Uncle Remy, there's a giant fight happening at Stonewall. You know that my parents won't allow me home anymore

Well I won't say no to my nephew and his boyfriend

Boyfriend? How did you-

Fellow homosexual myself, if you are one then you can spot one, that's what I say. Anywho, Emile and I can set up a room for you lovebirds. Follow me

The 2 teens followed the adult through The Duplex, going up a set of stairs to an apartment. Remy turned on a light even though it's dark outside

Have you had anything to eat or drink yet?

Roman and Virgil shook their heads no, prompting Remy to make them something to eat and drink. The noise from preparing food woke up Emile Picani, Virgil's other Uncle and Remy's husband who is a licensed therapist at the teens high school

Remy? What's going on?

Emile said as he goes down the stairs leading to the third floor. He then sees Virgil and Roman sitting on the couch

Virgil and his boyfriend Roman need a place to stay, they were previously at Stonewall and haven't had anything to eat or drink while there so I'm making them something

Remy said/shouted from the kitchen, giving Emile context of the situation. Emile nods, joining his nephew and nephew's boyfriend in the living room. Remy eventually served Roman and Virgil 2 bowls of Mac and Cheese, 2 cans of Pepsi, and 2 Blow-pops

The teens quickly ate/drank the provided food, feeling the comfort of a home-cooked meal once again after both sets of parents kicked them out of their houses and the 2 being used to boring cafeteria food at their school

Emile and Remy made small talk with Roman and Virgil after they ate, learning about what happened at Stonewall. Both the adults and teens remembered that it's 4:00 am and very late at night so the four of them went upstairs

Emile quickly set up a room for Roman and Virgil, then went to bed with Remy following him to their room. Roman and Virgil laid down on the provided bed after getting changed in clothes they brought from their former homes

Roman and Virgil fell asleep shortly after, not knowing that they're a part of a very important event for people like them
