[Edgar's pov]
After that crazy day when I slept in the rain, Colette, the whole next week, would make sure I got back home safely before she left. That probably made her mad as I got home late. The week, from 9 pm, to 10 pm, to 12 am, then 1 am and so on, I've been getting home later each day as I always played a lot in Brawl Stars Match. Today was another boring Monday. Colette had been "spying" me for a week.
After work, as usual, I went straight to Brawl Stars Match and started brawling again. I know why I like it now. Because it made me forget about everything and focus on the presence. To forget how to cry, how to feel. To forget the voices. To forget my problems.
"Edgar, it's almost 12 am! You should go back home now." Colette said and pouted.
I rolled my eyes and ignored her as I stepped onto the transporter again. Yet, mostly I met non-brawlers as it was midnight.
That non-brawler didn't know how to pass the ball, while the other one didn't know how to kick it. One didn't even move. One didn't attack. One just stood there and spin. One ate there. I've seen some of the most stupid non-brawlers, but it was normal to me. Yet I still easily got frustrated over them.
Some more matches, and I only won 2 or 3. Feeling defeated, I turned back to find Colette.
Will she be back home already...? It wasn't a pleasant thought to think of...then I saw her, curling into a ball and sound asleep. I walked over her and saw that she was having a running nose. Shit did I make her sick? I panicked for a few moment, then I chose to wake her up.
Should I just call her name? Or pat her? Or scream? Scare her? Tickle her? After thinking all those weird and stupid thoughts while pacing back and forth, I finally chose to shake her shoulders to wake her up.
As I put my hand on her shoulder, she suddenly murmured something, which made me take back my hand. "Wait...Ed...don't leave me...." She frowned with her eyes still closed, and her voiced turned into a whisper. She's dreaming.
What dream was that?
None of your business, Edgar. I took a breath and slight grabbed Colette's shoulder, then shook it. "Colette, let's leave now." I whispered, trying not to shock her.
Firstly, she refused to do anything, but then she winced. Her eyes slowly opened. "Colette?" I said, as she stared at me blankly.
Then her eyes started dropping tears, unstoppably. I panicked, wondering what I did wrong. She only cried even harder, and hugged me, not letting go.
"Oh it was a nightmare...I was so scared..." Colette sobbed and I had no idea what should I do. I shouldn't let it happen...
After quite a moment, Colette pulled back with eyes with still watery.
"Uh..you okay?" I asked uncomfortably. Seeing her crying, somehow made my heart stings.
She shook her head and made the fakest smile I've ever seen.
"I'm fine...it's just a stupid nightmare." She said, looking down to her laps, still sniffing.
Should I...?
No it's not anything about you.
Yeah fuck you brain.
"Do you want to tell me what's it about?" I questioned. Seeing her looking like this wasn't an easily bearable thing.
Her eyes widened at my question and softly chuckled. "Oh Edgar is being nice to me!" She teased, and smiled as she sniffed.
"Well, it's about a very special person. I don't know that person's feelings towards me, but I'm scared if that person will leave me. I wish that'll never happen." She said, not mentioning the name of "that person". Then she tilted her head a bit and giggled. "Why ya asked though? It's not your fault!"
