[Edgar's pov]
It was the 12 of February, a Saturday.
I woke up sleepily from my bed, and quickly got up to get ready. It had been warmer lately and I didn't need to wear such heavy clothes anymore.
Shit, it's 7:45 am.
I ran to the gift shop and arrived just on time. I caught my breath and opened the door, revealing Colette sleeping on the counter again. She was murmuring something in her sleep and the sight of it got me amused.
I took a picture of her in a blink of an eye and chuckled lightly at it. Then I put up some things and opened the door, letting customers to walk in.
"Wait..ugh..." Colette winced in her sleep and I didn't wake her even when it was work. She was busy planning about everything and adding details to the even that's coming in a few days.
"Hello, excuse me, why is the worker still sleeping? Is she sick?" A kid pulled my shirt and I looked down to meet her brown eyes.
"Uh, nah she's fine. She's just very tired." I said, and the kid nodded knowingly.
After a while, another customer found me. He nervously asked for my help as he pointed at the direction where Colette was sleeping.
"You dumb cashier! It's work time and get the freak up now!" An old woman yelled at Colette and Colette's eyes flew opened, looking around and realizing she's been sleeping all the way til then.
She quickly stood up and blinked a few times.
"Uh, sorry..." She quickly scanned the things that the woman was buying and she handed back the things in a few quick moves.
"Hello? Total of a hundred? You're kidding me right?" The woman didn't stop yelling. "I woke you up and I deserve some discount, right? For telling a freaking worker to work!" She glared at Colette and I felt her trembling.
Colette gulped and looked down. She said in a small voice. "Yeah...20 per cent?"
"40." The woman stated.
"Um, 25? It's really not so good for me to be sleeping, but it's also not good for you to have such a large amount of discount." Colette said with a small smile, trying to stay positive and nice.
"You are the dumbest worker I've ever seen! Would you listen?" The woman growled, and even pretended to slap Colette.
I couldn't watch it anymore.
I dashed to the woman and my scarf hanged her in the air, just a few centimeters away from the ground, but I could hear she gasped loudly.
"Put me down! This is the worst shop I've ever seen! I need to speak to the manager!" She yelled, but I heard she was frightened at the same time.
"Pay respect to others is all I ask for." I stated coldly, and my scarf was still not happy with the things I say.
"Don't you dare talk shits about ANYONE!" I yelled at the last word, and the woman quickly shuts up. "Colette's late, but you can ask for MY help. If I ever hear you say anything bad about the people here again, I dare you, you won't get to come in again." My voice was emotionless.
The woman nodded crazily. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry! Put me down!" She said.
My scarf dropped her in the middle of the air and she left the shop immediately after grabbing the items she bought.
The people in the shop started murmuring about what just happened, both good and bad. I sighed, and turned to look at Colette.
"You don't have to do this..it's my fault. I should set an alarm clock next time." Colette said, looking down to the floor.
