[Edgar's pov]
5 days passed. Colette didn't talk to me much. Byron and Stu were doing unexpectedly well. Emz and Mortis were being silent. Leon and Sandy hang out for a "talk". Belle shouted at Byron for making her worried..
Today was a Monday, but it didn't feel as bad. Christmas is tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my first time to play the championship.
I walked to the gift shop, and everywhere was blasting some old and stupid Christmas songs, and kids singing along. Everyone looked merry and excited for Christmas Eve, including Colette.
"Heyyyyy Edgar! Oh I can't wait for tomorrow!" Colette grinned and waved at me as I opened the door, realizing it was unlocked.
"So early?" I raised an eyebrow at her. She had never been so early, not before me.
Colette simply smiled. "Yeah! Tomorrow is a big day! I feel like I should be more prepared for it!" She chuckled, and started storing things.
"Whatever." I picked up an energy drink and put it next to the Colt-Crunch thing.
After a while, the work started, and many people were rushing as if it was their last time to come to Starr Park.
"Mommy, I need that Penny Christmas hat!" One kid shouted.
"Dad, can I have the Nita gloves?" Another kid yelled.
"I promise it'll be the last one, please! I really want the Dynamike notebook!" A teenager begged her boyfriend, I guess.
"Oh God, look at them! They're all so in love with Brawl-li-days!" Colette giggled and walked towards them to give them discount advices.
I simply stayed at the counter and waited for customers to buy a bunch of stupid festival stuff. I mean, why? You'll throw away and buy new things again next Christmas. Why spend so much money to celebrate a day?
"Hello, I'll like to but these." A woman gave me a bag of stuffed toys, toy guns, notebooks, water bottles, hats and so on. That's a lot. I thought.
"K."
"Total is 278.29 dollars. Adding the discount, it's 230.29 dollars. Thanks for your purchase." I said.
"Oh thanks dear. I'm glad it's less than 300." She smiled and grabbed her things to leave with 2 kids.
After a few hours, it was finally lunch break. Colette hopped to the restaurant and I waited until the last customer left the gift shop. Then I closed the door and walked to my lunch bench, bringing my lunch box. Surprisingly, the bread was still hot in my lunch box. I bought it a couple of days ago and I thought it was faking when the salesman said the lunch box could prevent coldness perfectly.
While I was eating, Griff ran up to me.
"H-hey Edgar! S-so I would like to give you and Colette the money as gifts for tomorrow. P-please get yourselves spoken good rests and-and bring this to Colette." He took a deep breath and handed the money to me, along with Colette's. "I won't be free, s-so you'll need to give it t-to her..." Griff took another deep breath and slowed down his pace a bit.
"Woah, chill. I'll give it to her." I put the money into my bag and watched Griff ran away. He is always a busy man.
I shook my head and continued eating while another hand scrolling through my phone. Yet my mind was still spinning around about tomorrow. I was undeniably nervous about it. I didn't notice until-
"Hey Ed!" Colette popped up from behind and gave me a heart attack.
I jumped a bit and turned to see her smiling face. Her nose was bit red from the coldness, but that smile of her was still warm and happy.
