Lana helped Steven up while laughing slightly at him.

"I wish you two hadn't seen that." He said, standing up and looking at Lana.

"Oh. Woah look at you." Steven said, Lana just looked at him confused before she looked back to the statue behind him.

"Oh, yeah. It's gorgeous." She said smiling and observing the statue very carefully.

"They've just been like.. standing guard for centuries." Layla said smiling at Lana.

"Right? Look. I cant even.." he made hand gestures toward the statue as he spoke with passion and love.

"Like, if they just sprang to life right now and asked me a riddle for passage, I'd be thrilled. I'd shit myself but I'd be thrilled." Steven said, causing both girls to laugh.

Lana looked down the hall While Steven admired the statue.

"What's this?" Steven asked, pointing his flashlight to a symbol written on the sand of the statue.

"Did you do that, Layla?" He asked her and she turned back to him.

"What? Oh yeah. It's for my father. He would've loved to be here."

Lana mentally flinched at the word father. She hated that word even more so now. Khonshu was gone, and she never considered Arthur a father, only the legal documents stated that, Lana didn't think it however.

"Oh, yeah? Big history buff is he?" Steven said, looking around a bit more

"So much worse. Archeologist on a mission. "

"Cool. "

"And to him, it was a dream worth dying for. And he did." She said, as the three continued to look around carefully.

Steven regretted his words.

Steven looked to Layla before apologizing.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." He said looking at her.

"Yeah, no it's fine, really. It's fine happens."

"I bet- I bet he'd be positively beaming right now. Seeing you standing in the proof of it. " Steven said.

Lana came up and squeezed her shoulder, smiling at her "I bet he'd be proud of you, ya know?" She said Which made Layla smile back at her.

Lana Harrow, despite everything she's gone through would smile in the worst times, and would always be there for others in their worst times, she was magical, Some people described it as. She would lift people into her arms, knowing what to say exactly.

Maybe that's why the moon god, the sky goddess, A mercenary, And a very sweet man who's name was always said wrong despite it being easy to remember, was so fond of the girl.

They all loved her in different ways, some platonic, some romantic, some parentally.

All they knew is that the girl was special.

"Well. It's not such a bad way to go is it?" Steven said.

"Let's find out." Lana said, sighing deeply before walking ahead as Layla and Steven followed her lead.

Lana was beyond scared, more than the both of them combined.

She continued to put this strong, brave front on, even if she was feeling the opposite way. She felt weak and didn't like it one bit.

"It's a maze." Layla pointed out as the three were pointing flashlights around the maze.

"It's a maze-zing" Steven joked, Lana laughed lightly, Her laughter made his heart warm up.

"No like, there are six paths." Layla said

"Yeah. Yeah, yeah."

Lana pointed her flashlight at the ground and her heart dropped to her stomach as she saw bullets. God what have they gotten into?

"What would they be shooting at?" Layla asked herself picking up one.

Steven started drawing in the sand as Layla and Lana watched him in confusion.

They looked to each other, shrugged and looked back to Steven.
