"I don't think he's mad at you ma. That was just a lot to take in. Can you imagine how that had to feel for him to not hear from that man and then to just hear his voice after all these years? Not just hear his voice, but to see his face, that's deep." Araya said to me as she passed me the blunt. I took a long hit off of that and just stared up at the ceiling. "Your heart was in the right place, he knew it wasn't nothing ill intended. You good Sis, you just gotta let them figure this shit out. He might need just a little bit of space for real." Riek said.
"I think he's right. Just give it some time, he'll be fine. We all got angels, we all got demons." Onyx said. It had been 6 hours and I was starting to lose my marbles on this. I just wanted to help in the situation, not blow his entire life up. I'm not sure what to do but let it be at this point. "Imma just say it, stop worrying about it. You already said where your intentions were when you did it. As close as you two are, he knows that in the end. You can't beat yourself up about it at all. Let it go, what will be, will be." Paradox said and we all laughed a little bit. "What's funny?"
"Did you just quote Que Sera Sera babe?" Onyx said to him as we laughed more.
"Wait, I know you're not talking J Cole. 'We all got angels, we all got demons'." Paradox said as we continued to laugh because he mimicked how J Cole rapped it. "Mine was more acceptable at least." Onyx said defending herself and calming her laughter.
"Whatever Que Sera Sera is a classic." Paradox said as we all laughed including him.
"You're both cornballs, but you're also both dope ass rappers, so we'll let it slide." Riek said.
"I don't know, I don't think I'm letting shit slide." Aries said as she sat up from the piano bench.
"She's alive, she speaks." Onyx said as Aries smiled at the remark.
"Y'all were beginning to blow my high with all the emotional mumble jumble. Listen, I'm glad we're off that for real. And as for y'all two, please don't allow my niece or nephew to become half the cornballs that you are. I know y'all could've come up with something more in depth or poetic to say the least. I had higher hopes for you." she said. "Babes how much weed you been smoking?" Araya asked her and we all laughed as she flicked her off. We laughed even harder at that. "Alright don't do her like that." Depth said as she stood up for a moment. "Allow the professional to handle this one." She said as she began to clear her throat. "There's enough love between you and bossman to last a lifetime. The admiration we witness in your eyes and the dedication through your actions and words speak volumes. Your intentions have always been pure when it comes to that man. He knows, even if he doesn't acknowledge it right away. Hindsight is always 20/20. Don't necessarily give him space, just give him time, he needs you right now more than ever before. Trust me." she said and she made so much sense.
"I was getting to that." Aries said and laughter erupted again.
"Sure you were." Riek said as he grabbed a hold of Aries and pulled her into him. "With all the love that is shared between us all, I don't think you've ever said anything that heartfelt." he said.
"I'm a thug though. Y'all know my heart." Aries said and they all burst into laughter. Maybe they were all right, this was a lot and I didn't take into consideration how many emotions this would bring up. I just know my mother would NEVER forgive me if I got married and she knew nothing of it. I didn't want that for him. I was raised that family is everything and hopefully he does see that is the very reason why I did this. Not to be malicious, not to go behind his back, and definitely not to force anything at all. I just wanted him to be able to enjoy this moment with his family as he rightfully should. "Let me kick some knowledge right quick to y'all. I know you guys are older than me, but I've been through a lot and I understand way more than you can imagine. From erthing that y'all have said and me getting to know y'all Imma say Big C really is in a weak state of mind. This was probably the one thing he kept pushed in the back of his minf and now it's in his lap. It's like sending a shockwave through his body. No matter what was buried, it's all at the surface now. He'll either feel lifted because he can finally address it or he'll feel overwhelmed. That hurt from abandonment is a different demon. I know he knows you weren't trying to rip the band-aid off the wound, you were trying to help. But on the real, he may need some time to rebuild his mind. Matters of the heart isn't something he harps on, but this will make him. So be attentive and be understanding. He may talk a lot, he may choose to not say anything at all, or he may have indifferent feelings. Just be there for that man." Cinco said and we all kinda took all of that in. I couldn't even say he was wrong about anything, but it was so true. Then all of a sudden I heard these loud claps and when I looked over I saw Charles standing there. "For you to be the newest to the family, you had the most complete understanding of the situation at hand. And you're the youngest in here...you got good damn sense. This is why I'm willing to take any chance on you." Charles said as he walked over to Cinco and they actually hugged each other. I wasn't sure which one of them needed it the most, but it was needed.
