I couldn't even lie, this was the most fun we've had in a good while. We were literally partying in the studio. All throughout it. I loved to be able to bring a smile to people's faces and as hard as Influx and Paradox worked, this was worth it. The two of them looked like they were having the time of their lives. This was literally the family we never had, but always dreamed of. See me and Chuckie were loners before so the fact that we've gotten attached to people is beyond me. But the bonds built in these walls were legit the best! "One more shot Dox and then you're all caught up." Riek said as he gave Paradox the last shot I knew he'd be able to take. They all knocked them shots back as Rodney turned the music back up. Not gonna lie, the music that was being played was everything the artists had recently been working on and I loved it. They all knew the words to each others' songs, that was dope right there. They was all rapping along to Onyx and Influx's version of Aquemini. They definitely killed the whole vibe to the song. I feel like Andre 3000 and Big Boi will appreciate this joint for sure. The lyricism is what got me, but they also paid homage on the track. Much respect. Then they put on the Riek, Aries, and Depth song. Man Decisions was another hot track. I feel like almost everybody was going to be able to relate to it on the relationship tip. They did that. Then Paradox and Dom's song A Way Out played. They both showed us a little something different. It was a growing pains song, but they didn't make it sound sad at all. Now that was talent for sure. Then the one that took the cake for me as Araya and Cinco's song that was called What You See. Cinco got deep on that track and Araya beautifully laid that hook. Then last was Shakes, Keyz, Cochise, and Cinco wo did their own version of Youngin Blues. Cochise killed the hook and they played the song off like Cinco was rapping to both the ladies. I liked their take on it because it was realistic. I appreciated every single bar I heard from everybody. "Feel like a proud father?" I asked Chuckie as I walked up behind him and handed him a cup. He took the cup from me and smiled. "Yeah, this is all I ever really wanted. I just can't wait til they all blow. Then I'll feel accomplished in life." he said as he took a sip of the drink and I wrapped my arms around him. He turned his head to the side and kissed my cheek. "You feel like a proud mom? All your babies growing up." he teased as we laughed.
"I do. We got this parenting thing on lock!" I said as we laughed together and looked around the room.
"Ayo!! We popping bottles." Cochise said as he walked in with a couple bottles of some Moet. "I think I like how he thinks." I said to Chuckie as he popped the first bottle and it exploded all by Kev and Dox.
"Yeah, he got the right idea. I just can't believe bruh dawg is gay. He definitely killed the whole feminine stereotype that's associated with it." he said.
"Oh word?" I said to him.
"Yeah he blatantly told us the day we met. I respected it and then let him know we didn't give a fuck." he said.
"Right, he fits in right with most of the ladies." I said and Charles laughed.
"Facts!" I hopped up on the table and sat down and Charles came and stood between my legs and leaned back on me. We was chillin just vibing to the music. Then Rodney cut the music. "Alright yall, we got a lil special performance coming for you. Ladies..." he said as everyone kinda went still and D and Onyx stepped up and grabbed the lil mics that were resting on the board.
"So we got a lil something for yall. Hope you enjoy." Onyx said as D and Onyx pulled their men to the front. Then the beat to Make Me Proud by Drake popped on. It was an interesting spin when D jumped in singing the chorus and then Onyx came through on the verse.
"I like a man with a future and a past. A lil drive and dedication to make it last. Never give up easily, this won't end fast..." Aww I see they came up with the graduation theme for this one. I like how they put thought into. D's verse was good too when she brought it in.
"B-b-b-bet he is. All them others be in our biz. College degree and I'm the Salutatorian. Books, music, and money is what he dabbles in..." Uh oh so they killed that! We all clapped at that performance. Kev picked D right up and spun her ass around after that. I never seen him so happy than he has been with her. I looked over at Onyx and Dox all hugged up and shit. This right here was beautiful.
"Alright, gift time. The tribe has spoken." Aries spoke up to change the direction of attention. "So I know we agreed to no gifts, but yall know we don't listen. But these are a different type of gift though." Riek said. Araya went and passes a gift bag to Kev and Depth handed a gift bag to Dox. They both peeked in the bags and started laughing and the tribe burst into laughter too. The rest of us looked confused. "Aye yall know what's fly?" Araya said.
"The ingredients to a high nigga pie." Depth said as they all laughed and we caught the gist. These cats gave them some weed. "QPs of the best. Now yall ain't gotta find nothing for some time." Riek said. I don't know who their supplier was, but these cats always kept the best gas, that was a dope gift. No pun intended. But it was amazing to see how we all cashed out on each other though. Yup...these are my babies. Proud mother moment.
