Me and Dom were hotboxing the whip while we waited on Araya to get off work. We had just left the hospital from checking on Toya and them and this just seemed like the appropriate time to do it. She passed the blunt back to me and I swear I felt more high than I usually do.
"That medicinal is a mufucka." I said to her and she laughed.
"Be some of the best you can get." We both laughed for a second.
"Tell me about it." I said as I was trying to pull myself together when I passed it back to her. "You good though?" I asked her. I know she left abruptly last night, but we understood why for sure.
"Yeah...I'm good. Slept on it and I'm back." she said nonchalantly.
"Just making sure babycakes." I said as she passed it back to me.
"You ever think about that?" she asked me. "Having kids, I mean."
"Rarely. I thought about it last week when I was video chatting with my little sister. But honestly, I'm not ready. I know I'm not. I'm still too selfish and have so much that I want to accomplish first that I can't even fathom it yet." I said to her. "What about you?" I asked as I passed that back to her.
"Naw. Plus, I wouldn't want to complicate things. We're both trying to get our careers off the ground. On top of that, he's already raising Keisha. That's too much for real." she said as she put it out. I sat back in the car for a minute. "At least you understand me. It's like everyone asks me about children and I still haven't completely wrapped my head around marriage yet." I said.
"Girl...yall wedding is a couple months away. Are you having second thoughts?" she asked me sounding concerned.
"No, that's the love of my life. I'll never get another Charles for real. What I can't wrap my head around is the definite part. Like we take these vows that say 'in sickness and in health. Til death do us part' I mean that's your vows before God. That seems so final. I never could just remarry and carry on if we ended. It just seems like the period at the end of the sentence. You know?" I said to her.
"You do take those vows, but you are allowed to walk away from those if they are no longer serving you though. Not saying that I ever could see that for yall. I've never seen a bond so tight even with adults and everything. Yall are so in sync." she said and she was absolutely correct. I know we had a bond that most people would kill for and I loved that. It was just you could never be too overly sure about anything in life. "I can say I'm blessed with that for sure." I said very sure of that fact.
"Indeed. You and Toya for real." she said. "Man, what? Tony loves the ground that that heffa walks on." I said as we both burst into laughter. "On God."
"You ain't lying!" she said as we tried to calm down the laughter. "Then the tribe. Girl...that right there is so different. Like they literally love the fuck out of each other. I like how Depth went into it and it seems like it has been that way forever for real." I concur.
"True. I didn't even think that was gonna be possible, but there it is. They do seem incredibly happy all together though. I fucks with it." I said. The concept is crazy to me because I don't think I could divide my admiration, but they do that shit so well. All 4 of them.
"Wait girl...what about Onyx and Paradox? It was like a moth to a flame with them two. They've literally be inseparable ever since." she said. "True, she's good for him though. I'm so glad I reached out to bring her into the studio. He needed that pick me up, plus their music together is fire. Like how can you go wrong there?" I said as I had to pat myself on the back for a second. "We might as well deem me Mother Love, because I got everybody together for real." I said laughing. "Well I can't take credit for you and Influx. That was Charles' boy. But I see yall though." she smiled for a minute. "Don't be all quiet about it now. Girl you dropped a bag on that boy yesterday for real. So I know there's some type of love there for real." I said as I looked over at her.
"He did tell me he loved me yesterday."
"Well we can all see that though. What did you say?" I asked her.
"I don't know how to feel for real."
"That's expected, but don't let a good thing fly by because of your past boo."
"Man...I'm so glad to be out of that hell hole." Araya said as she got into the car and closed the door. "Oouuu is it more for me?" she asked as the smoke hit her.
"You already know!" D said as she passed her the blunt.
"Yessssss needed this. Thank you." she said as she instantly lit that. "What yall was talking about?" she asked.
"Love Boop. We was talking about Love." I said to her.
"Okkaayyyy. Well when yall speak on love I hope yall mentioned us 4 times." she said as we all laughed together.
"We were just talking about yall. I'm not into the whole poly thing but I adore how well it is working for yall. That's a tight bond and shit." I said to her.
"It's not for everybody, for sure. But I love all 3 of them though. Truthfully, I wanted Depth to come with me when I first got with them. This is what I wanted. It's perfect for me." Araya said.
"Let me find out you're the mastermind behind all of this." D said to her and we laughed at it. I'm not mad at that.
"I for sure am. But I just have so much love to give that I don't mind spreading it. But what's mine is mine! So we all making it work. It's going quite well if I do say so myself." she said proudly. That's the same attitude I have about me and Chuckie too.
