I knew I was too lit when I realized I was standing on top of the island in my kitchen dancing. But what more would you expect from me? Money, Power, Respect- The LOX was blasting and everyone already knew I was Queen Bee around this bitch so it was only right to act up. I promise me, Dom, and Araya stayed dancing this entire night away. Most people took breaks, but this was us in our zone for sure. I'm glad we did bust out the 90s theme because it was so chill and a complete different vibe than most other parties for sure. Then on top of dancing, it was like karaoke night for real. The dudes were all out there taking turns as the different songs from OutKast, A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs, Public Enemy, and let's not forget New Edition. These dudes were in here impersonating them all. No one could deny me and Chuckie definitely knew how to throw a party. After the song ended, Chuckie helped me off the island and we both laughed. "Didn't think you had all this in you." he said to me.
"Sure you did." I said as I leaned in and kissed him and then we started walking around to see how the guests were doing. The tribe was holding it down in the Living room. I loved how they balanced having fun and making sure nothing got fucked up too. They've been quick on their feet all night for real. The DJ been doing the best all night, shoutout to Rodney for doing his thing. But the moment I had been waiting for was here. I went and picked up the mic.
"So...let me hop on this one time..." I started as Rodney brought the music down. "...thank you everybody for coming out to celebrate our graduation..." claps and whistles flowed throughout the entire house. "...but we have something a little special for yall. As most of you know, me and Chuckie own a record label. So some of our artists decided they would bless us tonight. So we got some 90s feels with some new school flows. I hope yall enjoy." I said as everyone moved a little more towards the dancefloor while me and Chuckie backed up over behind Rodney. I was so excited to see how Cochise, Paradox, Cinco, and Riek were about to pull this off. The song they were doing went to the beat of I Should Be by Dru Hill. The dancing almost took me out for sure, but they was doing that shit. Cochise went straight into Sisqo mode. But they transformed the song into school focus. When they hit us with 'Step one, come through the door. Step two, Stay Alert. These teachers are preparing you before, you're on the graduation floor. Step three, No F's or D's. Step four, Be in Sports & more. You will see all the tools you'll need, but there's 4 steps to succeed'. They absolutely killed them verses too. We clapped for all of them. But then that moment arrived that was heavily anticipated. Chuckie, Kev, Paradox, and Onyx killed the Remake of Crossroads by Bone Thugs N Harmony, also about school. They changed it to meet me at the Grad stage instead of Crossroads. Then the last but not least. Diamond, Araya, and Aries killed their version of Ready or Not by the Fugees. They made it about being ready for College. 'Ready or not, here I come, books in hand. I'm gonna grind it and take it slowly. Ready or not, here I come, books in hand. I'm gonna learn it and apply it to graduate again.' We clapped for all 3 acts that went up. I was proud of them all.
"One thing we know how to do is put on a show, huh?" Chuckie said as he wrapped his arms around me form behind and I smiled. "That, we do." I said back to him.
"Can't wait til it's our wedding that's being celebrated. That day will be all about you shorty, I promise. Thank you for rocking with me." he said as he kissed my cheek. "No, it'll be about us. Thank you for rocking with me. I know I'm not the easiest to get along with and haven't always shown my love the right way. But I'm thankful and grateful for this." I told him just before Rodney put on Love Like This by Faith Evans and we both laughed.
"This for yall, get out there." he said as he turned it up and me and Chuckie definitely hit the dancefloor for this one. I looked over and seen Jay and Suki getting it on the floor too. Okay then! Love the energy for sure. I looked the other way and saw Depth and Riek getting close too. I loved to be surrounded by this type of energy and taking in these vibes for sure. I couldn't have asked for a better night at this point. Then You're All I Need started blaring through the speakers and I literally saw all couples over here. Tony & Toya came in, Dom & Kev been lighting up the floor all night, Onyx and Paradox and surprisingly it seems like Cinco and Keyz were getting close too. We were all vibed out though. By the time Method Man got to the ' Queen with a crown that be down for whatever' part the ladies soon realized, the guys were showing out. I think we all were getting rapped to at this point. It was a sight to see to say the least for real. "I know this is a 90s party, but can a couple from 2000 get a pass?" Rodney asked. Me and Charles looked at each other then gave him the thumbs up. "Fellas, this another one for yall to show out on." he said as The Light by Common came in and Charles immediately grabbed onto my hands and pulled me to him. When I say baby knew the words to the song, I mean he might as well have been Common himself for real. Then I think every single person in the room joined in on that 'It's important we communicate...' line. Epic! This night was literally the best night to be out here.
