I couldn't even manage to fall asleep, I was way too anxious, not in a bad way, but more like a triumphant way. I remember when this shit was just my thoughts and dreams and now look at it. My dreams are literally about to become my reality so quickly. All the sweat, blood, tears, time, money, and all has been for this very moment. I had planned it all down to a T. Had got all the artists in line and up to par. They're ready and hungry. Everybody putting their little personal shit to the side and this was about to be it. I couldn't say how they're feeling, but I'm just excited. Sure I dabbled in illegal activities, but that wasn't about to be my legacy. My dirty dozen was my legacy. The imprint I leave in their lives and the way we're about to amplify it was insane! "I knew you was up down here." Iris said as she walked up behind me and placed her head on my shoulder. I placed a kiss on her forehead. "What's going through your mind?" "I'm just happy as fuck right now. Everything has been leading up to this very moment." I said. "You probably feel like a proud dad." she said with a slight laugh. "That's one way to put it." I said as we both looked outside at the rain falling. "You should though. You basically raised and groomed these artists into what they've become to get you to this moment. You have ever reason to be happy. You did it!" she said as she grabbed both of my hands and I looked into her eyes. "You mean we. We did it! Whether you really see it or not, I wouldn't have been able to do this without you. I wouldn't have some of the talent nor have had them so disciplined. I really couldn't have done this if there was no you. So...We did that!" I said to her. "I may have helped you iron out some ruffles and brought some talent to the forefront, but at the same time, this was your vision. You built it all from the ground up. You envisioned it in your mind and literally brought it to life even when no one else could see it but you. You made sure you found the perfect engineer. You scoped out pure talent and then got some to follow you. You got them off the corners and into the studio. You pushed them to improve vocabulary and all of that. Bae, you did this. I want you to look at this and be proud of your damn self because you did that shit, no matter what anyone else said. You got me out the streets to bring some of my gangsta to the board room and get them together..." we both laughed. "...but this is all you. I tip my hat to you Chuckie. I'm happy as hell to be the woman by your side to take this walk with you." she said before she pressed her lips to mine. I can't lie, I been loving seeing the softer version of Iris. Like this is all I've been wanting. The gangsta shit for the gangsta times, but this is how we should've been the whole time. "I appreciate you and all the support and help that you've given to me through it all. Ain't no way I would be this far already without you by my side. I promised you that I was gonna make things better for us and you promised to ride with me through it. I see we both kept our promise." She put her arms around my neck and pulled me closer. "You've never given me a reason to doubt anything that you've ever said to me. So you've got my trust for life Mi Amor. Nosotros estamos en esto para siempre." she said to me. "Forever is a long time." I said to her. "It is, but the only time I wanna be without you, is the time in the past before I knew you existed. So forever may be a long time, but that's the only option." she said confidently. "Sounds like a Death Row contract to me." We both laughed. "You know the only way out is in a box." "In a box?" "In a box!" We both started laughing, the fact that we could be just sitting here randomly quoting movies together and just enjoy life's simplicity was all we really needed. I feel like my homies didn't really have the peace that I feel with her, in their relationships. And that's why it had gotten so chaotic. Well at least for Tony and Riek that is. I wish everyone had this here though. I heard a knock at the door. Iris and I looked at each other. "For them maybe?" Iris said. "It's late though, that's weird." I said as we headed up our stairs and I peeked out the window and saw Justin's car. "It's only Jay." I told her. "Okay cool." she said as she sat down at the island and I went and opened the door. "What's good brody?" I said as we shook hands. "Hey Suki, how you doing Sis?" I said as I stepped aside and let them in. "We're good. We really just came by to share something with y'all." Jay said as I lead them into the kitchen. "Hey Sis!" Jay said as he hugged Iris. "Hey Jay! Hey boo!" she said to them both as we all took a seat at the island. "So...what's new?" Iris asked and Jay and Suki looked at each other. "You pregnant?" "Chile...no. I mean we have an announcement but not that one." Jay laughed. "Okay...so what we missing?" I asked and then I caught it at the last minute. I saw the rings on their fingers. And considering they both had a ring, I already knew. "We're married." Jay said and Iris tried her hardest to control her face. "Congratulations!" she managed to squeeze out as she hugged her tight, but gave me the look that matched my feelings at the moment. I looked over at Jay and controlled my face. "Congrats bruh!" I said as we shook on that. Subconsciously I knew I was gonna have to burst his bubble about this one. But that would have to wait until we get back off tour, if it even lasts that long.
