The Return of the Beast Princess

Chapter 32 - Chief Jedrek *

Jedrek has been hearing things from the other fox beasts while he was on his way to the witch doctor’s house.

“I envy that snake for having a female like that....”

“I know! This is the first time I have seen mating that intense and that long. I even came twice by watching....”

“The female even pleasured her mate. Ugh, I am getting excited just by remembering....”

“I have seen females pass out in the middle of mating but this female has stamina like males. They did it all night....”

“One of the foxes who stayed until this morning told me that they mated after waking up....”

All of these mating talks made him more curious about the female. When he first saw the female, he felt that there was something different about her. The way she talks and handles herself even in front of him, the chief of a tribe, didn’t intimidate her at all.

He was trying to test her out by trying to provoke them yesterday but the elegance and fierceness of her words and how she stood in front of him was a surprise. She still showed respect for he Is the chief but her delivery with words have authority and determination that he has never seen shown by any females he has met. And she’s even hostile with him.

Females have been flocking around him to get his attention and even seduce him. He is a five-starred fox beast, is attractive and charming, and a chief of a tribe too. Which female wouldn’t be interested to have him as their mate? But he is picky. With his status, no female deserves him, that’s what he believes.

He was in deep thought when he arrived at his destination. He saw some foxes flocking the witch doctor who is already outside.

“Hahahaha, this is what you call a basket and that female gave this to me. I can easily gather more herbs and plants now with this. This is sturdier than animal skin bags.”

“Wow! Chief Jedrek told us that they are here to trade. Are they selling baskets witch doctor Edi?”

“I think they do sell them. The female also gave me these containers. She said I can fill it with water so I will not get thirsty when I go out. I can even put sensitive herbs and plants inside so they will not get crushed in between other plants and be destroyed.”

“Did the female make all of those witch doctor Edi?”

Jedrek asked as he stood at the back of the crowd. The foxes gave him way while greeting and bowing at him. Edi bowed and smiled at him as he answered, “Yes chief Jedrek. She made all of these things.”

“That snake beast is really lucky to have a female like her. I have to buy some of those for my mate!”

“Me too!”

The foxes hurriedly left for the riverbank while Jedrek and Edi remained. Jedrek is studying the things Edi was showing off earlier.

“I know there is something different with that female. She is not just smart but is also skilled. Her beauty and charm can even rival ours and the mermaids... no... she surpasses us all. Do you have any idea what tribe she is from witch doctor Edi?”

Edi shakes his head, “I did not ask. All I know is she is from the bird race.” He put the containers inside the basket before holding it on his back. “Chief Jedrek, I already told the other foxes that I will be blessing mates at the altar since the four moons will be full tonight. I will come back before dark to prepare.”

“Did the snake beast ask you for the blessing? He would not come back here for that short period of time just to trade things again.”

“He did. That was his main reason why he brought his beautiful mate here. Why is the chief asking? Is the chief interested with the female?”

“Curiosity I guess. I know he is a wandering beast so the possibility that he would be back here for trading should be around after two harvest seasons. And bringing a female too is a surprise.”

“Yah yah yah. That shocked me to be honest. I can still remember the day when he refused to be Gilda’s mate. I know he is not interested in females. Maybe he has the same reason as you chief Jedrek. He dislikes spoiled females.”

“It is a shame for our tribe to have spoiled our females especially Gilda up to the point that her attitude became like this. I wish we have females like Asha.”

“I believe the beast god will grace you with a female that you deserve chief Jedrek. Just like how Dumu was favored with his.”

“I think he already did....”

“That is the last basket that we can trade. You can all go now for my wife is still resting.”

Dumu stayed standing in front of their tent while he watch the crowd of foxes disperse. He was about to go out hunting when these beasts came to their tent to trade. He doesn’t want them to wake up his wife that’s why he’s the one who traded with them.

We only have those spoons and forks left. My sweet beautiful wife will be happy to know that we gained a lot of crystals from selling her baskets and containers. After we get the blessing tonight, we can leave this place and then I will have my wife all to myself again.

He gave Asha one last loving glance before leaving their tent. He was only some distance away when he felt the breath of someone he despised.

“How can I help you fox chief?”

Jedrek appeared behind a tree and walked beside Dumu while going deeper into the forest.

“I heard you ask the witch doctor to bless your mating ritual with your female. Are you out here to hunt for an offering?”

“Yes I am.”

“You left your beautiful mate... alone... sleeping... are you not even worried that someone will snatch your female away?”

“Should I be worried? I thought the fox tribe is a safe place especially for females.”

Jedrek snickers, “oh definitely. She will be safe as long as she stays with the fox tribe. She will be safer if she is with me, the fox tribe chief.”

Dumu stopped walking and faced a smug looking Jedrek, “do you want your tribe to lose a chief?”

“Do you want to lose another duel?”

“It is a warning. And I have learned a lot from my wife especially about warnings. It should only be given once. Excuse me, Tribe chief, I have to hunt for an offering for tonight. Or else, I might just offer the head of an arrogant fox for my mating ritual.”
