The wet season.

Soft and light drizzles have been blessing the whole beast world since the snow has melted. The greenery in the forest started to get vibrant again and beasts have started to go out from their homes to search for food that survived the cold torment.

The sun would still appear from time to time. Sometimes, it would fight its way through the rain that is yielding to stop. It's its season anyway, rain is the main actor now, it won't let the sun get the spotlight on the stage.

The first quarter usually only gives mild rain. Sometimes it won't be there for days, leaving the sun warm up the whole surroundings, letting every living thing to thaw and experience the warm hug it brings. But the rain won't be too giving, because as soon as the second quarter of wet season starts, rain would start to get heavy, and that's when the whole surroundings look gloomy.

When the plants are just starting to grow again, some sensitive plants will die from being drowned with too much water for them to be absorbing. Some plants do love water but not all though. Just like wild beasts and beast men alike, there are some who loves the rain and some do not. Especially those heavily furred beasts. They're all left with soaking furs sticking on their bodies. They can't flaunt their luscious furs for others to admire, especially when they try to court females. Having great looks can still be a major attraction for such simple-minded beast men.

This is why Tarik and Theo didn't even bother changing to their beast forms. They kept their raincoats hugging them tightly. They do love taking baths but to get soaking wet for a long time, they hate it. They were greatly influenced with their wife's need for cleanliness that's why they started to make bathing daily important. But it doesn't mean that they would want to be wet all the time because having thick lustrous fur still make them feel attractive. Who wouldn't want to look great and handsome in front of the one they love? They fully cover themselves with the raincoats made from the savage giant's skin and tries to avoid getting soaked by the rain that is now slowing down their trek through the Destitute Plains.

The whole area is barren. There are some trees that can be seen but it is so few that they can't even find cover from the rain as they walk the muddy ground. The grass that should be protecting the ground can't be seen everywhere. Just patches of grass here and there that are trying to survive this place, and now with the nonstop rain, chances are slim for them to grow. The Destitute Plains live by its name.

Dumu and Gan are the only members of Asha's entourage who are enjoying the rain. Gan is on his beast form while pulling the cart where Asha is comfortably in. Her husbands were grateful for Zeev's considerate devotion to her. The roof really made a great difference. It protected their wife from getting wet from the rain in their journey. Dumu slithers in his half snake form as he stays beside the cart his wife is in, smiling and enjoying while the rain pelts over his cold skin.

"I think traveling during wet season is really a bad idea. My feet are all covered in mud," Tarik pulls his feet that has sunken from the muddy ground and got stuck while they are walking.

"I apologize for not being too helpful. It slipped my mind that I would not be able to fly and be the one leading our group if it rains hard like this," Corbin bows apologetically to them as he walks in the front while leading them through the muddy terrain.

"I do not mind. The mud feels cool and I like it," Dumu slithers effortlessly as he slithers right beside the cart Gan is pulling.

Asha has her head resting on her hand while looking outside the window.

"Rain can be beneficial but with how deprived the Destitute Plains is, the whole place gives a gloomy and sad feeling. I didn't expect that there'll be no groves or even thickets in here. No wonder there are no wild beasts in this area. There are no proper shelter for them to live. I can't imagine how your crow village have stayed in this place for so long Corbin. This place needs a proper rehabilitation or this will be considered a dead man's land in the future. Is the mountain range near? Can we even find caves for us to rest more comfortably? I better get off from this cart and scan the area. Gan, can you please stop for a while? I wanna get off."
