Chapter 60 - The Alpha Female *

"Suppress!!!"

Asha starts absorbing the fireball from her extended hand. The rush of the fireball towards her was put in a standstill as she forcibly absorb all the fire inside her body. She held her extended arm with her other hand as she tries to control the fire in front of her.

"Asha!!!"

"Female!!!"

Dumu endured the pain as he stands up. His body is not fully healed yet but he morphed into his half snake form because it's more difficult to stand up using his legs because of his aching limbs.

He can feel the intense heat radiating from the huge fireball but that didn't stop him to slither towards his wife. He touched Asha's shoulder but he was taken aback as he remove his hand quickly. His wife's body is scorching hot. It is so hot that his hand got burnt from that sudden contact.

"Du-mu... it's... so hot... my hands... my body... stay away...."

Asha grits her teeth as she endures the excruciating heat right in front of her. Her hair is getting tousled wildly as the fireball's pressure dispersed in waves.

"No! Dumu will never leave his wife!"

Dumu glows a bright blue as he summons water to shield himself from the heat. He held his wife close to him by her waist, a sizzling sound can be heard as her body touches his. Sharing his shield on his wife's body took time before both of them are enveloped with water. One can see steam coming from both of them, as his water shield tries to repulse the extreme heat radiating from the fireball.

"It's too hot husband... you won't be able to tolerate this much heat... you better stay away and leave Dumu..."

"No! Dumu promised to protect his wife. I will never leave my wife. We promised to do everything together, yes? Do not push me away Asha. I will not let go, ever."

He tightens his embrace on his wife who smiled defeatedly. Dumu is not letting go in any way. The steam coming from both of them thickens as Dumu strengthens the water shield surrounding both of their embraced bodies.

The fireball is getting smaller as Asha continues to absorb it with her body. No one knows, even Dumu, that she's almost at her threshold where her earth mana meets her innate fire. She has been using her mana excessively since helping Giada deliver her cub. She can only use half of her earth mana for the other half is controlling her unstable fire. If this balance gets thrown off, she might repeat what happened to her when she was fifteen. And her father is nowhere near to help her. She has been reckless for she didn't anticipate these things to happen all at once.

Dumu... I'm reaching my limit... the fire's too much for my body to handle....

Dumu heard his wife and it made him worry. He better think of a way to not have his wife bear all the burden. He needs to step up.

He extended his hand towards the fireball in front of them as he concentrate with his eyes closed. Asha can see blue aura collecting in a fast speed, enveloping his outstretched hand. She vaguely feel the heat pressure from the fire, their surrounding begins to get cold as tiny sparkling icicles hover in the air.

Do you believe in me wife? Let go off your hand and let me do this.

Asha heard him say in her thoughts. She smirks as she retreats her hand before kissing her husband's cheek. She whispers, "of course I do. Show that dog how strong my husband is."

Dumu smiled as he open his eyes and look at her lovingly. Asha can see his eyes glowing as another star is being imprinted on his eye, making it a total of seven. She was smiling like a girl who got to know that her crush also likes her as well. A tingling feeling electrifies her whole body as she proudly watches her husband.
