Chapter 142 - Dead season ends

The whole island was in a festive mood.

The return of their guild master is one thing, but the news of having all their females all pregnant made the whole guild joyous. This is the first time a group of beast men have all of their females expecting to have cubs. All the males were so happy most especially the mates who have their females carrying their soon to be cubs in the very near future. Their worry in having their race extinct is now gone thanks to their guild master.

What's more making them this joyous is when the husbands of the guild master announced that their wife is pregnant as well. Males keep on congratulating Dumu and appreciating his "hardwork." They were happy for all her other husbands as well because they are taking good care of their wife. Her husbands of hers will have a greater chance to get their guild master bear their cubs in the future.

This didn't stop Asha though to continuously work and be busy. Since the crocodiles and dolphins have accepted her offer to move in to the island, she has been creating more houses for them near the capybaras and the mountain at the other side of the reservoir. She is even preparing houses for the crows, the bears and the elephants. A mountain is designated for each race. The crows will reside on the western part of the island while the bears and elephants will occupy the north. She has build roads that connects every mountain used as residence. That way, it will be easy to travel from one mountain to another. Asha is now thinking if it's possible to build railways. It would be easy to travel using carts. She made every road easy to walk through for now and just improve it if ever she finds a more easier way to move anywhere in the island.

Asha and Shay were quite busy as well. Asha taught him how to read and write. Asha was happy that Shay is diligent and focused. She can see that being a spy for so long made him be attentive always curious and hardworking when he sets his mind and goal to something. He is intelligent as well for it didn't take her long for him to learn.

Shay has gone for the whole day one day and came back the next with a lot of wild birds following him to the island. He trained the wild birds to obey his wife's commands. He also taught her how to call and instruct them. All of the wild birds stay settled at Elder Najyba. She didn't mind it hence was happy because these birds will keep her company.

Shay was most strict to the wild hawk he wants to be his direct messenger between him and Asha. This will be his secret way of communicating with her when the time comes for him to part from his wife and continue his work as a spy. It made him a bit clingy to his wife because remembering that he must leave the island soon makes him miss her already and feel lonely. But he needs to go. It will help his wife if he continues to work as a spy and spy what Huye plans to do as well. That's one reason why the other husbands gave way and let him spend his time more with Asha. Shay has the most dangerous job and he's doing it all for their wife.

Dumu, Tarik and Theo personally trained with Shay. They were all strict and unforgiving. They have trained day and night whenever Shay isn't taught by Asha in the library nor training the wild birds. Thanks to their fast healing ability, all their bruises and wounds can be healed quickly. They don't want their wife to see and worry. It's not that they are mad at Shay and wants to bully him that's why they were more aggressive and strict when training him. But remembering what Ignia said, they all need to get stronger so they can inherit the Ancients' powers faster. They have told Shay about this when Asha wasn't around. Shay can't believe it at first but with all what's happening, he started to accept his fate as one of Asha's husbands. Since they are the chosen four heirs, they will need to end the hostility between all of them once and for all and be united. If ever the celestial mate of Insha got reincarnated as well, they will be ready. They will make it certain that their wife will not be taken away from them.
