It's complete mayhem.
Burning trees. Stone walls knocked down. Roars and growls echoing the whole surroundings. The smell of sweat and blood permeating the air. Baylor is under attack.
It is obvious that the wolves are dominating the battle. Just like what Asha said, Baylor fell to Barda's trap. They expect Souta to send his best beasts to their village to save their witch doctor and its novice. Little did they know that Leroy is already at the brink of his death, as his battered body is hanging at the entrance of the wolf village, for his rescuers to see.
His unconscious novice is cast as Lupa's prisoner, as she hides him at their secret place with Barda and the rest of the wolves, who are hiding all night behind the shadows surrounding the stone walls of Baylor. The wolves don't have a witch doctor of their own. That's why they are keeping the novice alive for they can easily threaten him and do whatever they tell him to, not like Leroy, a loyalist of their kingdom.
"Your Grace! You are here!"
Some of his fellow herbivores are keeping the wolves from entering their kingdom. Souta can see their wounded bodies, it made him angrier and look at the battle happening in front of him.
They are clearly outnumbered. He never thought that a small village from the wolf tribe can have a number this big and what's surprising is the number of high-starred beast that's playing his fellow beasts like cubs who doesn't know how to fight yet.
And at the back of the battlefield, he can see Barda, with his smug brute face, just standing there, watching and enjoying the carnage like a feast in his sharp eyes.
"I have to face Barda and end this once and for all. Help me pave the way and reach that bastard."
Dumu steps forward and morphs his two hands into long sharp claws, "let me. I need to put to use what I have learned from my wife."
He didn't even wait for Souta to reply. He ran amok into the battle. Bodies after bodies, he clawed his way inside the chaos. Heads, arms, even bodies sliced into half keeps dropping on the ground, blood covering the earth in a fast rate. You will know where Dumu run into because you can hear the cries of beasts and see the blood spattering like paint has been spilled mid-air. The green grass covering the ground before is now soaked and dyed in red.
"What in the beast god?! So brutal...."
The wounded herbivores that can watch the scene doesn't know if they should be scared of the snake beast going berserk in the battlefield or be happy for their enemies are being killed one by one. Souta was grateful for the help for what this travelling merchant is doing at the moment. He doesn't have any duty or responsibility to help them but there he is, killing every wolf that blocks his path.
"All the wounded beasts need to get back at the entrance and prevent those wolves who wants to enter Baylor! Those of you who are still able to fight, come with me and we will face Barda! Let us not waste the opportunity the snake beast is giving us! Protect Baylor!!!"
Souta changed to his half beast form. Bellows of rage and determination can be heard as the other beasts morphs to half-horses, half-goats and half-deer. Their hooves stomping hard on the ground, making the surrounding tremble, as they charge towards Barda's direction.
The clash began as the red wolves beside Barda meets the enraged ungulates*. The goats and deer changed to their beast forms as they used their horns to attack. Wolves in full beast forms howled and charged to attack with their sharp claws and teeth.
It was a bloodbath. Wolves biting and clawing any herbivore they see. Deer's antlers and goats' horns piercing and stabbing wolves blocking their path. The half horses trampling and crushing bodies after bodies to pave way for their king to meet the wolf chief.
