Chapter 75 - The Kingdom of Byakko

Small to medium-sized villages can be mostly found scattered everywhere in the beast world. They are composed of one race that may vary from one to more types. These are villages that live their lives in a more primitive way. Life is simple. But the danger lurking around them is unavoidable.

It can range from food supply shortage, attacks from wild beasts or from other villages who wants to plunder, or danger from race extinction. That's one reason why many beast men tends to wander around the beast world, looking for a place safe enough for them to live their life to the fullest. Some are lucky to join other villages, some are not. No one would just allow any other beasts join them. If you are weak, you are useless.

Some villages friendly enough to work with other villages tend to merge. As long as they both agree to terms that they get to successfully trade with each other, it's good for both sides. With this, their fellow beasts would feel safer and more relaxed. This could also help both races to avoid being extinct. The more chance for them to reproduce, the better.

But nothing can beat kingdoms which holds united powerful races of beasts. Reproducing with these kind of beasts is the most effective to bring powerful cubs that will continue their race. Kingdom is the large group of beast men, with three or more races in unity.

There are only a few known all over. One of them holds the top spot for the most famous and respected. The kingdom of all kingdoms. That is the kingdom of Byakko.

It's a kingdom as old as the ancestors of beast men. It was believed to be blessed by the beast god for it's the largest kingdom built through time. Byakko, as the name was established, is ruled by the king of all races, the white tiger.

The kingdom of Byakko is the largest and holds the most power in the beast world. A lot of races made pacts with the white tigers and are allies with them creating this big alliance of beasts of different races. Most of the races that are connected with them are birds. With the white tigers as the king predators of the land, the bird race that joined them are the protectors of their kingdom and beasts that dominates the sky.

The bird race are respected in Byakko for the birds that completes this group are all known as predators of the sky. The eagle, the hawk and the owl are the main leaders of the bird race. They live harmoniously in the kingdom.

Like Baylor, the kingdom of Byakko is a kingdom made of stone. But the area that they govern is ten times larger. The stone houses are either two or three-stories high. The locals that resides in Byakko lives a carefree life. Because the kingdom they are in is ruled by the king of all races, they all believe and are confident that they are safe as long as they are residing inside the territory.

Some became arrogant for they bully other races that is not allied with their kingdom when they are outside. They even extort some small weak villages and these poor races can't do anything for if they even contradict or go against them, they might receive the other end of the stick. In case they need help in the future and ask some from Byakko, they might not help them at all.

But not all beasts are sucking up for favors from Byakko, like the beast men of the sea. Some beasts still ridicules them for the white tigers are claiming that they are the fifth powerful beast of all time and should be recognized as one of the Ancients. They are the only living beast race that has been blessed by the beast god Nabu. That's what they are trying to spread all throughout the beast world. But many still doesn't believe this. The arrogance of these white tigers are pissing off some strong races that live their lives in their own villages. They didn't agree for alliance with them. They ridicule the white tigers for their smugness. Why would there be a fifth beast in the Ancients. There are only four moons not five.

That's why everyone from Byakko hates the mermen. The waters is the only territory they can't conquer for these mermen won't give up their territory. These beasts are not only blessed with beauty and charm. They are also powerful in their own way. No one can overpower them, especially if you are caught in the sea.
