"Why is master not back here yet!? It has been more than a week now. Dumu, are you certain that the voice who told you to go back here told you to just wait? What if something bad happened to our wife? I will head to the docks and get a boat. I will check the edge of the world and find her."
Tarik stood up from one of the stone stools in their front yard to leave when a branch of Elder Najyba smacked him at the back of his head. The other branches held him back to sit on the ground near the tree.
Dumu has been anxious ever since their wife has gone missing. Tarik and Theo were feeling the same but Dumu had his thoughts running wild that dark deep thoughts are starting to make him feel more agitated and restless. All he did was pace back and forth in their front yard as he got consumed by his negative thoughts.
Truth be told, the three husbands were not having enough sleep and didn't have the appetite to even eat. The other chiefs and the wolves are getting worried for them. But what can they do if the three remain stubborn. They can only empathize with them for they also feel worried about their guild master's disappearance. All of the beast men on the island can only pray that Asha will return soon.
And since Merrik knows what happened, he visits the island everyday just to ask for an update. He would stay for an hour or two even if he's just waiting at the docks because no one in the guild would even entertain him nor let him on the island. He tried to get in but failed. That's one reason why he realized that no outsider can really sneak on the island. How his beautiful nymph was able to do that, he had no idea.
"Leaving the island at night using a boat you never know how to use is the stupidest idea you ever had Tarik. From all of your ideas, that tops all of them," Theo said while sitting cross legged on the porch.
"Are you even not worried Theo? Well why am I not even surprised. You are the last one to be her mate. You have not been with her long enough to even feel what me and Dumu are feeling right now."
Theo stood up angrily and pointed at Tarik, "take that back or I will let you eat your words right now. One less mate means more time for me and my wife when she comes back."
Tarik was trying to break free from Elder Najyba as he angrily kicks and points at Theo who is seething right now.
"Oh yeah? Come at me. You think I am scared of you? Let me go Elder Najyba! I will fucking kill this bastard so he knows who he is messing with...."
"I will kill both of you if you two do not shut up. Two less mates means I get to keep my Asha all to myself. You two just made me want to kill you more...."
The three were about to fight when the ground began to shake. They can see Elder Najyba's uprooting while some of her thick branches whips on the ground to make loud thuds. She even threw Tarik out of the yard.
Theo calmed down and knelt in front of the tree, "I will behave. Sorry Elder Najyba."
Dumu sighs as he tries to calm himself down. He bows at the tree, "forgive us for our outbursts. We are so worried about our wife and we are not thinking properly."
Tarik hurriedly goes back and kneels in front of the tree, "I am sorry. I will not do it again."
The ground trembles again but it was rougher than before. The three look at Elder Najyba but they saw no movements from her as the ground continuously shakes.
"What the fuck is happening?"
They stayed calm and observed their surroundings as the ground shook. It was too long that the three became dizzy. They stayed knelt down on the ground as they balanced themselves with their hands on the ground as well.
